Need A Good Lap Band Fill Dr In Houston Tx Area

Recommended Posts

Dr Garwood got me started on the lapband process and has followed me the whole time. He is compassionate and takes time to answer all your questions. I couldn't ask for better.:scared2:

I use Dr. Stephanie and she is awsome! No pain at all and she uses flouro every time. DON'T go to FILL CENTERS in Houston! I had a horrible experience. The doctor poked me with a needle for over one hour and could never find my port. I was in tears when I left the office. They charged my credit card for the fill even though I never got one! I am glad to hear about the other doctor in College Station as a back up.

Just please be careful. I thought I would go the cheap route and had that horrible experience at fills centers. The doctor dug into my stomach with a needle for over an hour. It was one of the most painful things I have ever delt with. Then I was devasted to not be able to get my first fill. Luckily from Lap Band Talk, I found out about Dr. Stephanie. The price is 200 dollars, but she uses flouro. I now have my sweet spot after my fourth fill being that she can see how much to put in. I would drive to her any day. I would rather pay a little more to have a great doctor do my fill the right way.

Dr Garwood in College Station does fills. He will also do fills on Mexico and Foreign countrys.

He is very good you will love him. He is the creator of Myocel which is used by many prominent Lap Band pioneers to defat the liver in preparation for surgery.

He does fills on Saturdays as well.

He can do them with or without Flouro.

He charges $200 for the initial consult and $100 for a fill. Floura add $55

7day adjustment policy.

You can contact Janice at : 979-661-1160

An update is due on my original post;

$150 Fill only

$200 w/ Floura

979-696-3700

He does fills on Saturday by appt. Fluro fills are also available on Saturdays as well. :(

I'm thinking of going to Mexico for my lap band and it's good to know that I have some choices when it comes to getting a fill! I was concerned that I would have trouble finding some place to go!

Thanks for the information!

Thanks for the information. I already got Dr. Alanis for my fills here in Houston (Hwy59) and he has been great.

I was wondering if anyone has used Dr. Felix Spiegel, from Houston. I got banded back in December of 2007 and am not happy with the results with the fills and I have had four in the past three months, does anyone feel the same fustration as I do?? 150.00 each fill does add up.

I bet you used the same doctor as me and I was not impressed either, I actually was very surprised about the office and staff, because I had only seen the doctor through Neweigh.

I was banded in Mexico, and use Dr. Garwood for fills. As a matter of fact, I went for a fill yesterday at his new office in Willis. I have to drive 150 miles (one way) to get to him, but it is well worth it. Dr. Garwood is very knowledgeable, very likeable, and very fair with his pricing. He gives you a 10 day window. If you don't think your fill is enough, you can go back to him within 10 days and he will not charge you. He charges $200 for the first visit, then $150. He doesn't use flouro, but I have been to him for 5 fills and he has never had a problem finding my port.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
