Hi friends

Ok some of you may know my work drama over the last 6-7 months. Yesterday I counted and realized i had been out of work for 28 weeks. I'm temping but its not the same. Just made me cry. Quit my job to work for a nonprofit and ended up getting screwed 3 weeks later. So glad i quit my job with a retirement plan and benefits to persue a dream... Granted i was miserable but able to pay bills on time.... sigh...

Anyway - I applied for a job that i think I would be very good at (alumni relations). i drag my best friend and husband to 2 alumni events to meet the new development guy and the president. Hit it off and really like them both. In December we have a phone interview - I think it went really well. Then the holidays came. and the silence.... silence... And the reposting of the position. Great. Evidently I wasnt what they wanted. But just to be sure I sent my resume again on the 23rd. Still nada.

Now today as i see whats new and exciting on their website

I see a new posting... Development Officer. This is in line with what I want to do and actually matches my fundraising experience better. While I

have sent my resume (twice) now for the other postion - which i really really want but do concede I may be lacking somewhat in experience - just by a teeeensy twinge....

:frown: Do i send my resume for this and somehow word something to say - Although I have recently applied for the Alumni postion please consider me for this position if you think my qualifications are better suited here??

Help!

what do you think?

Sonia

I would apply for every postion that you see. They might not have made the descison yet as to what they would like to do.

how big is this place? if it is big you can just apply and not mention that you have applied before. If it is not then yes, say you have applied for another position but would also like to be considered for this position and why. How you feel you are really suited for this position and would be a great asset to them.

Sometimes persistance pays off. If it is the same hiring manager they may continually see your resume cross thier desk and put the pieces together... I say keep sending them.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
