Dr Schram

Recommended Posts

I just got my approval letter from the Insurance company today, and I am soooo excited.

Has anyone else had Dr. Schram? I know there was one person talking about him, but I can't find her anymore...

Can anyone tell me what is going to happen now? Like, what else needs to be done after Insurance Approval, and does Dr. Schram do any fills right away, what is he going to want me to do after the surgery as far as food, etc.... As you can see, I am full of questions, but am so very, very happy that I AM APPROVED!!! What a feeling, I am scared and happy and thrilled and scared!!!

Please, if you have any info, please share it with a nearly 48 year old, that is ready for a life of NORMAL!!:tt1:

My surgeon is Dr. Schram! I adore him. He's quite literally the best of the best. I was banded 1/4 and don't get my first fill until 2/18. Grrrr. I want it sooner than that. I'm going to try to get in earlier so I'm gonna call them tomorrow.

PM me if you have any further questions about Schram or the facility (Forest Health Barix Clinic). I went to the Ypsi location...are you going there or to his facility in Holland?

I am going to go to Ypsilanti, actually leaving tomorrow night after work and staying at a hotel near the hospital (1 mile away, I think) because I have to be there at 6 am on Tuesday. My insurance company insists on an overnight stay, so I will be home sometime Wednesday. I am all packed and ready to go as I won't be home again until after the surgery!!! WHOOO HOOO! I am sooo ready!! This day has dragged unmercifully..hopefully tomorrow will be better (if I can concentrate on work!!)

It is now 3 days after my surgery, and I am feeling a lot better!! It is hard to get any food in me, I just don't want it, and forcing it makes me a little nauseous. But I am very very happy the surgery is over and I can start losing weight!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
