Dr. John Bagnato - Bagnato Bandits

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone - glad to hear from everyone. I haven't been around much lately, I've had problems accessing the site, some days it's fine then some days not. Now with school starting back up, I'm back to work and things are getting a little crazy. Maybe getting back to work will jump start my weight loss again. I've only lost 1 pound in about 3-4 weeks.

I've popped in every so often, but mainly haven't been on because I've been sick. Nasty sinus junk that has made me feel like crap. I stayed home from work 2 days this week...very unlike me!

I had the weirdest thing happen. I've posted before about how the scale moves slowly for me but I am loosing inches. That is so strange to me, but as long as something is getting smaller, I'm good. Well, I'm down to about 4 pairs of pants I rotate in my wardrobe. Two are pretty loose and the other two have started getting much looser as well. All of a sudden this week, the two loose pairs were REALLY loose...like, not wearable loose. So I had to go shopping today for new pants!

Here's the cool thing...I went to Lane Bryant. Back in April, I bought a pair of 7s in a pair of capris, going by that new sizing thing they have. Well today, I had to buy a 3! Pretty cool! She said that would be about an 18 or 20, and I started out in a 24, so it is cool to see some real progress!

Anyway, that is my good news. I'm planning to rejoin curves just as soon as my kids are back in school. That will get me moving again!

Georgia-Hopefully this fill will be the one to get you to the 100lb. mark by your bandiversary! What's the process if you have a leak? Can it be repaired or does your band have to be replaced?

Nip-Glad to hear from you. I tell all of my friends and family of your progress all the time!

Ally-Congrats on your NSV!! I've stopped relying on the scales for my true progress. It was driving me nuts. Funny thing is, I've weighed less in the past and wore larger sizes!!! So the inches make all the difference. Keep up the good work! And I hope you feel better soon.

Hey bamboobabe! I guess it would depend on where the leak is. If it was in the band itself, which I highly doubt, the band would have to be replaceed. If it's in the tubing, I'm not really sure. If it's where the tubing connects, it might could just be fixed.

I don't think I'm losing enough Fluid for it to be in the band itself though. So....I guess we will just wait and see.

Hey ya'll!

I know there is a clothing exchange on here, but thought I'd offer to anyone that wants some 18/20 clothes to ya'll first. I have several skirts and pants I am ready to get rid of. I have a pair of black pants and brown pants that are Lane Bryant Slacks. I also have a pair of pin-stripe black (aqua pin strip). I think I bought them at JC Penney. I work at a brokerage firm, so they are dressy. I also have some Lane Bryant - Red Size 2 Jeans (Average) that are getting big. I have a few dress shirts too. Send me a PM and I'll be happy to get them to you.

Leslie, I just sent you a PM. Let me know!

I also have several size 24 clothes if anyone is interested. I know I have several pairs of dress pants and some blazers/jackets. Probably some shirts and a few pairs of jeans. Cleaning out my closet is on the agenda for sometime very soon, so I'll know more of what I have then, but I know it is a lot! Just a warning that I am only 5'2", so if you are tall, these wouldn't work for you unless you make them into capris! :teeth_smile:

Just cancelled my fill for Monday, 8/18, if anyone needs it! Call now! I wish I could say I cancelled because I'd lost too much weight...I actually just can't take off work that afternoon. They had an opening for Tuesday morning, but I couldn't take that either....my conflict is early in the week and wouldn't you know, nothing later in the week. I wasn't able to get another appointment until Oct. 1! I'm sorry, but that just seems crazy! I'm hoping there is another cancellation somewhere in there.

Just cancelled my appointment for August 26 at 8:30 at the Center if anyone wants to try for it.

I'm going to see what my insurance will pay for a fill at Dr Bagnato's office. If it works out, I'll cancel my September appointment also and that will free up another slot.

Hello Leslie and the rest of the bandits:

I am here.

I am still beautiful, black, and breathing. :crying: This is one of my cosuin's favorite responses. She can't jsut say, "I'm doing fine." Note: This is my family. Please don't expect normal answers from abnormal people. That would be asking too much.)

Anyway, i am okay.

My band it okay. It still has to remind me who is in charge every once in a while. Note: It is hard to argue who is in charge when you are PBing.

I got a 0.5 cc fill today. I had not had a fill since June.

Work. work. work. tired. tired. tired. That is also me.

Otherwise I am good. I have become a bit of a lurker. Most of the time I get up, scowl at the alarm clock, check this forum quickly, and then I am off to work. Then I wash, rinse, and repeat the same thing the next day.

~~~~
My new work assignment has forced me to learn more of Georgia. I still don't know much about the state, but I am learning highway 133 and Highway 37 because I now travel both those highways at least once a day.
Highway 133 has this house of sin called Dalton's Chicken. As a result of a recommendation by a coworker, I tried their fried gizzards. I think that they marinate them in heroin and then deep fry them in crack.
Highway 37 had a similar house of ill repute called Allegood's market. It looks like a gas station without the gas pumps. A coworker let me try their pulled pork there. More crack.
food from either of these places will not make you slap your mama....
...It will make you rob your mama.
I eat at either place occasionally. And the best part about it is that I dont feel guilty about it. I will eat the food and be done with it. Normally it takes me two days to eat a serving of anything from either place and i end up throwing or giving most of it away anyway. No more hating myself over the fact that i ate soemthign other than Water and diet food. However, do not fret. I know better than to indulge at either place an more often than "occasionally".
I actually find myself turning down food. That staement itself should actually cause the world to spin backwards and cats to bark. I don't care how full I was, there was always room for more. Now I find myself turing down food. I am talking homecooked southern food. The bestest kind of food there is. The kind of food that has started wars. Don't gimme that look. Just see what kind of battle erupts when everyone simultaneously realizes that they are staring at the last piece of fried chicken or sweet potatoe pie.
I thought the statment about people sometimes being thirsty when they think that they are hungry was complete BS too. You may be shocked at this, but I was wrong. (Damn twice in the same day!) Soemtimes I will drink something..water..sugar free soemthing-or-other and then I am no longer hungery. If I drink I can't eat for 30-60 minutes anyway. Then when that time is up, i realize that I was not as hungry as I thought i was. I normally end up waiting another hour or so before I really eat anything.
Hmmmmmm.....
:: I'm thinking. Ignore the smoke ::
Next time when soemone asks how I am doing, I will also tell them that I am Beautiful, Banded, and Blessed to be a Bandit.
how about that?
I hope everyone is doing well. Congrats on your successes. Thanks for continuing to be my sources of inspiration.
Brina- next time you are in town CALL ME GIRL! I live and work about 10 minutes from either of those places!! I love Allegood's bbq!! I haven't eaten it in ages! But it used to be a once a week thing that I did was go and buy a lb of bbq from there. Dalton's is pretty good too but I tend to have a hard time with chicken these days but I still nibble on the skin, lol. Pamela is also in Moultrie so maybe one time when you're in town we could all get together! I have a fill scheduled for Monday and I'm seriously thinking about going. Both yesterday and today I have been starving!! My band is so weird. One day I can't eat crap, the next day I can eat the kitchen sink. Is anyone else's like that??
My non-eating time seems to be early morning. It's like the more I eat during the day, the more I can eat each time. (Does that make sense to anyone other than me?) It's like my pouch stretches during the day and then relaxes at night. My next fill is in a couple of weeks so maybe that will solve the problem.
I'm the same way Mia & Bagweaver. Actually Bagweaver and I talked about this last night at the Y.
By the way - I actually worked out THIS morning. I'm so glad it is over, but I feel awesome! It may actually work out to be the best time for me.
Anyway - sorry back to the topic...I don't know if I need another fill. Some days I'm pretty tight and others I feel I could eat an entire cow...of course by the time I eat I can only eat a little bit. My next fill is on August 21 @ 9:30. I'm teetering on whether I should cancel. I don't want to be too tight (been there and NOT fun). I guess I'm going to see how my weigh in is tomorrow. If I've lost at least 2 pounds I think I'll cancel. I'm on the fence here. Any advice?
      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
