Mia, I'm sorry you are having a rough time of it. It definitely sounds like you need an unfill. I'm not experienced by any means, but it sounds what Elizabeth told me was the zone you don't want to be in. Go see them...it isn't worth being miserable!

Another question - I look at some people who have lost 50-60 lbs. or even 100 lbs in a short period of time and I'm wondering how you loose at that level and still get fills? I consider my weight loss to be at a snails pace, but according to Elizabeth, if I loose at least 4 more pounts by 5/20, then I don't get a fill. So how do you loose but still get filled? I'm confused!

I've only had one fill. I exercise my tush off.

Georgia;

Can hardly wait to see your new cut! I know it's just too cute!!!

Jonathan;

Congrats on the weightloss!! I've been somewhat slack on the exercise as of late, but you've given me a new motivation!!! Do you also do the low-carb diet?

I've been slacking off in the exercise department too!

I got my bodybugg today!! I am soooo excited about using it. I am going to register it tonight and start wearing it tomorrow. I am definitely going to the gym tomorrow. I can already see that it's going to motivate me to move more.

I try to eat foods that are healthier for me. I do try to limit the calories though.

Where is everyone?

I hope everyone is having a good mother's day and that's the reason no one has posted this weekend. I also hope that it's not because we're having a few bad days and making not too good of choices.

Finally, I hope everyone is doing well and you all had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Hello Everyone:

I probably am late in catching on to this, but I thought that this site was great. It is called DownSize TV. People post videos of their weight loss. It is one thing to see photos, but to see videos is a whole different thing.

Here is the link:

Change is Possible - Before and After Weight Loss

I am doing okay. Just goign throughsome stuff. I wish I had not told so many people i was having surgery. Well, i told a few and rumors got around. Now everytime someone says that I look different, I don't believe them. I think that they are saying that because they feel obligated too. :Banane53: Sigh. 'Tis my life. Not to menntion, I really don't see a difference. My clothes have always fit loose on me (i have always been inbetween sizes..the next size up is too big and the next size down fits me so tight you would think that i was surgically implanted in them).

This is not a post of me giving up, it is just a mid way complaint. Hence my search for more motivation.

Does anyone know of a place where they do Water aerobics that is big girl freindly? I dont care if I have to drive an hour or two to get there (I live in Albany).

I hope everyone is doing well. I hope you all have an ultra fantastic mother's day. :welldoneclap:

Brina - Thanks for the link - I didn't know about this either. It's quite interesting.

I know how you feel since I told everyone also, but fortunately everyone was very supportive. My biggest problem is that eventhough I've lost over 100 pounds I still feel fat as ever. People are always telling me how great I look, but I still feel fat as ever. I'm always asking my husband if I'm as fat as someone else. I just can't picture in my mind that I'm not as huge as I was.

It will get easier, people will get tired of asking and they will start leaving you alone and you will have to admitt to yourself that you are changing. Because you will be. You'll be surprised as to how fast and how often you need to update your wardrobe. Just yesterday my husband stated how much easier it is to go shopping with me. That we don't have near the trouble in finding things that fit me. I loved that.

Good luck and keep up the good work.

I've had a rough weekend. I found myself consuming way too much PB. I love Peanut Butter, and I was keeping to a couple tablespoons a day - great Protein. I noticed today that I must have eaten half the jar in the past week. Why? I also feel for the Velveeta cheese. I know not to eat around the band, but I found myself "snacking" this weekend. With no restriction this is bad! bad! bad! I didn't eat anything normal - all was mushy but I feel so damn guilty. I guess I'm a bit lonely too. DH has pretty much been ignoring me since earlier this week. He won't open up to me and says everything is fine. I don't know if it is just me - I tend to over analyze everything. That may be why I've been so glutenous this weekend. He never thinks of me. I always have to initiate EVERYTHING, dinners, lunches, any time together. My children come first. I agree 100% with that. But after them I seem to come last in his life. It is just frustrating. He's spent all weekend either on the computer, playing with the kids, or playing a video game. I think if I walked through the living room naked he wouldn't notice me. It's so depressing. I don't know what to do. I know I shouldn't turn to food, which is what I did. Other than my girls I feel so alone. Well let me get off the imaginary couch. How much do I owe you guys? Do you charge by the hour?

Brina - Definitely check out your YMCA. I know ours offers Water aerobics!

Leslie - Do you think your DH might be having some issues with the surgery? I know my DH had some trouble wrapping his head around things in the beginning, and it created lots of tension between us. We talked it through and all is okay now, but he may be having some issues with that. Or is this normal behavior for him? Either way I hope you are feeling better soon. I am like you and am so used to turning to food when I'm having those days, and it is a transition for us. We need to train ourselves to turn to exercise or something!

I had a great NSV today. I tried on a dress, a skirt and sweater and a pair of capris I couldn't wear at all last summer and they both fit! The capris I have been steadily trying on since Mark and I can finally wear them. That felt awesome because the scale just isn't moving much for me lately. But evidently, I am having some progress!

Congrats on your NSV allykat! Those kinds of NSV's always make you feel good.

I had a rough weekend too. I had diarrhea most of Friday morning. Then Saturday night I started getting chills and fever, then night sweats all night long. The fever would come and go. Sunday morning I had diarrhea again and also continued having chills and fever and sweats all day long. Thankfully I feel much better today, I'm guessing it was something viral.

Anyway, looking forward to a better week.

I have been making bad choices all last week and the weekend. I think I am letting the cc taken out of my band go to my head and am eating things that I wasn't able to before. I haven't gained but I haven't lost either. I am thinking of calling Malik and trying to get in and get my cc back. The hunger is nonstop and instead of putting healthy things in my system I've been putting junk. I have no excuses. I know I have been doing bad and just need to get back at eating like I'm supposed to.

Ya'll - it sounds like we need a meeting! Sounds like many of us had a rough weekend. When are we going to get together? I know we've tossed dates around for a while. How about this Saturday?

Brina - I think Tony's Gym in Albany has Water aerobics. I tried to go there a few years ago. I was TOTALLY IGNORED! I made an appointment for a first workout and the snooty girl up front said no one had time to work with me, she had to stay up front. She weighted about 90 pounds soaking wet and just looked at me like I had a disease or something. I just thought, what a bi***. I called Tony the next day and demanded a refund of my money. He apologied and was really nice. After observing, I felt like everyone there was for "social" reasons instead of fitness. I didn't feel comfortable. It may have changed and be a good place to go. Hopefully he has hired some nicer people. I know they have the pool, sauna and all of that. I wish my gym had a pool. I miss my pool!

I wish I could, but my daughters have dance most Saturdays from now until their recital in June and national competition in July. Feel free to meet anyway...maybe one day I'll make a get-together.

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
