Hi!

I'm from Buffalo. I went to Greeley, CO to get banded. I've been banded for a bit over 3 years. Good to see some WY folks here! Rose

It is good to see others from Wyoming on the board. Anyalee, I replied to your thread on the newbie board, but I'll ask you here again. Where did you go to have your surgery?

I went to Salt Lake City, Dr. Simper.

Rose, Since you've been banded the longest, how goes it? I've almost reached my goal wgt. and am having a problem with the idea of "maintaining"

I am from Sheridan and have started my approval process with Dr. Parnell's office in Cheyenne. Had my first appointment last week. I saw somebody post who had surgery with her as well, I am wondering how you are doing and if you experience there was a good one. I am doing my pre appointments in Casper as they have a clinic there as well, but to Cheyenne for my surgery. It stinks I have to go through 6 months medical supervision, I am ready to do it tomorrow! Look forward to hearing from other Wyomingites!

Hi Cher56,

My experience with Dr. Parnell was fabulous. We actually grew up together and I wouldn't have trusted this proceedure to anyone other than her and her team. I am using the Fill Centers here in California for my fills and am still trying to get to the "sweet spot." I am told on average it can take 4-5 fills to get to the right place, I just thought it would be one time and I would be set....my weight loss has not been fast, but I am making head way and am learning a lot about the band and myself. Dr. Parnell told me that 1/3 is the band, 1/3 is exercise and 1/3 is the food. I am striving to keep that healthy balance for permanent weight loss.

I hope you are already set up with a team of professionals in Casper for your after treatment, I wish I had a little more of that here. When I was in the hospital I met four nurses that had all had bariatric surgery with Dr. Parnell and they were all walking proof that this works.

Best of luck to you. Please feel free to contact me for anything.

HI Cher and Katie!

Cher, Wow! on the traveling! You're putting some serious miles to achieve your goal; that's impressive.

Katie, Congrats on your wgt. loss.

I chose to have my surgery done in Salt Lake City, Ut since it's only 85 miles for me.

I'm doing ok maintaining my wgt. loss, but have schedule my first fill for Aug. so I will be able to maintain my current wgt.

Keep me updated on how you're doing!

I chose to have my surgery in Greeley. It's a great excuse to go to Ft Collins and shop whenever I have an appointment. I loved Dr Johnnell in Greeley & I wouldn't have gone to anyone else. He has SO much experience and a great track record for awesome results. I had a friend who went to Cheyenne to get her surgery & her Dr turned out to be a real douche. She tried to transfer to Dr Johnnell and he wouldn't let her because he was afraid the douche would sue him (again). As long as you are going through a female Dr in Cheyenne- you definitely don't have the douche! :)

How are the fills going for everyone? I have had 3 and have 4.2cc and always leave the office feeling like I have restriction and within three days I can eat just about anything without any restriction.

How many fills have you all had? How much saline until you felt it AND stopped eating with results? The fill center told me that on average people need four to six fills to hit the sweet spot. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts and experience.:)

Hi!

I am from Jackson, WY. I was banded May 19th and have had 4 fills with a total of 2.7 cc's in a 12 cc band.... I am feeling it a bit, but not enough I think. How are you all doing with excercise?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
