Yesterday I signed up in Facebook and sent out messages to friends and kids to join me. Haven't had even one response! Then I hear that Facebook is mostly for collage kids.....NOT FAIR!!

NM Sunshine. Hi I asked to be your friend. As for your vomiting stop look and listen. Stop to see what you are eating. Tomato skins can be tough to chew down for instance, are you measuring 3 oz hard Protein and 3 - 6 oz veggies? or are you eyeballing. Listen to what you are feeling. Are you sensing a tightness and taking one more bite, or are you ignoring the sighs which are any of/or tightness, pulsating like a heartbeat in the pouch, hiccupping, sneezing. Are you eating slow enough to sense the feelings. Should take you at least 20 minutes to chew through a cup of food which includes the 3 oz of hard protein.

If your answer is yes I am doing all that, then you may need a sligh defill for awhile. If you have stresses in you life that causes the stomach to block the opening by swelling, so a defill may be the answer

carlene: I noticed your comment on honey. That is a no no for a diabetic as it is the same as sugar. Seriously cooking for a diabetic is not all that tough. Diabetic association and Company's coming have cooking for diabetics. The key is to keep small quantities and exerecise. If he is borderline it is not usual for him to take glucose readings.

Also, fruits are very quick sugar fixes that is why diabetic who feel they have low sugar are told that if in trouble suck on an orange. So be sparing on the fruits and emphasize veggies. Low fat Proteins etc.

I am diabetic and since the band have gone from 5 metformin a day to 1 as I have lost weight. You should have no problem with the help of a few cookbooks.

Carlene-I got your friend request and I would love to have you as a friend. I think I got on your list. I am a type two diabetic and was taking 4 pills a day plus 5 different meds. My family doctor has just changed my diabetic medicine to only 2 now. My goal is to get off as many as I can.

This is my 4th day post-op and am doing better each day. I am having a hard time eating all that I should--I am not hungry. I did venture outside today and went to one of my grandsons baseball games. I have 5 grandkids and they are all very good at sports. I was happy to be feeling good enough to go to the game today. It was pretty hot and after the game was over I was ready to head for home, the couch and air conditioning. Thanks to everyone who has responded to my concerns about having a fever. Another question--did any of you have a cough after surgery?

I finally got my Wii and now waiting for FredMyers to get a fitness board I have connection my DH works there and they will hold me one when they get them hope it soon can start that before Surgery to build up some muscles. Got my Granddaughter a Bratz game and glad I like the music its on alot. I was Blessed and have had her since she way a newborn. I tell you it can sure make you tired at time with all this weight I'm carrying and My back (had 3 back surgeries) my hip is bothering me and one knee my legs hurt most of the time to the point I find it hard to walk.

I've had my Wii for about 6 wks (got mine at Fred Meyer... just went in one Sunday after church & they had some in stock!!), and my Wii Fit since they day they came out.. May 21, because I pre-ordered on Wal-Mart.com. I love it! I spend about a total of 1 hr each day... 1/2 on one and 1/2 on the other. I LOVE the balance exercises! And, my knees are bad, but I try to do 3 min walking with the Wii each day. Not sure if it's getting me enough exercise, but it gets me out of my chair, and I always work up a sweat, so that has to be worth something.

7_4_20.gif How's everyone doing? I have this problem with PBing a lot and wonder if anyone else has the same???? Had a super bad one last night. Ate Tabouli salad for dinner, nothing else. about midway through the bowl of Tabouli I began PBing. Every single bite wound up PBing out. Below is the ingredients. Tring to figure out why it made me so sick. I have a lot of trouble with fresh veggies. Anyone else had this?

Don't know... Doodie's response sounds right.

Just a guess, but could be your body's attempt to get rid of any residual anesthetic in your lungs.

Nice to have you for a friend.

I'm not doing the good things, Guess I'm doing lots of the bad things. When I suddenly feel a sort of back-up in my esophagus, I'll take another bite or two. Needless to say that back-up comes up along with those extra bites. I'm bipolar and am not taking all my meds, so I start doing things real fast like talking a mile a minute and eating at same time. I've been PBing at least several times a day. Don't want a defill but will follow your advice. Thanks, going to print out what you say and put it on my refrig.:cursing:

NM Sunshine: My bro-in-law is bipolar and I know what you mean. You may want the doctor to look at your meds. He did and is much better now. Just a hint to slow you down in eating. Take a small bite on your fork put it down and then start counting your chews. 12 is the normal amount before you swall automatically so you don't want large chunks still in your mouth. My clinic told me to try for 20 times or more before swallowing. Sit on your hands if necessary.

When I am at a restaurant, I find it easier to chew or eat slowly because of the conversations going on. However when I am alone (that is a lot) I will sit on my hands. Good luck, I know you can overcome your problems.

Oh yeah, I'm good. Didn't even notice that it had the choices bar on this screen.

I don't see anything in that salad that should make you pb, but I'm pretty new to this too, and so far nothing bothers me. Only 1 time and don't remeber what that was. Think I didn't chew well enough, maybe.

Those babies can wear you out, but they sure are worth it.

You are a beautiful woman Phyl. I'll bet inside and out.

I just finished a bowl of mashed cauliflower for lunch. Very good.

My screen says you have 6 friends Doddie. Hey, I've just discovered I missed a whole page. Don't know how, I called up the last page and got 17 instead of 18. Will have to read on :cursing:

Phyl does you Mii get smaller are you do? Silly question but couldn't resist. Have a great day everyone.

Now that made me giggle! I made her a little chubby, but I wish I had her skinny legs! That trainer person when you first log on can be rude! When I get on the balance board to get weighed she says this painful little "OH!" Then after I'm weighed and the BMI needle is going up, she says, with a bit of an attitude,

"That's OBESE!"

Thanks, that's sweet!

Lots of sunshine today!! It was great!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
