Am I normal??

Recommended Posts

I had surgery last Nov. 28th and went for my first fill on Jan. 9th. The doctor told me that he put 2cc's in during surgery and he put an additional 2cc's in during the first fill. As I was driving home I started getting sick and all afternoon I wasn't able to keep anything down, including Water. They had me come back in that afternoon for an unfill and now i'm sitting at 2.5cc's. I can tell that I have some restriction because I have to chew really well, and I have to watch what types of foods that I eat. If I eat slowly, I can enjoy almost anything that I want, and I never really seem to feel a full sensation. I'm now trying to consume mostly Protein and watch what I eat because I know that I can over eat, almost like I could before, given that I chew well and eat slowly.

I've read that alot of people feel full after eating small amounts, and I'm wondering if this comes with more fills? I either get a sensation of something being stuck after the first bite, or nothing gets stuck and I never really feel full.

What you are experiencing is very common. The band can be very fickle. Sometimes it only takes .1 ccs to make a difference. If you feel like you are eating too much I would go back in for a slight tweak. Most bandsters eat between 1/2 cup and 1 cup of food, 1 cup being too much at times. Good luck trying to find your sweet spot. It took me forever and I still struggle with it 19 months out. Julie

The journey of figuring out the band. There is an real learning curve and emotional adjustment. I have only been banded for 4 months and I am still learning what works and doesn't work. Good to ask questions, listen to you body and be patient. All kinds of quirky, weird stuff comes up. That is what is so great about this forum!

Start:207

current: 180

Goal: 150

Fill level: 2.6 in 10 ccband

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
