I'm confused.....

Was there a band placed at all? Did it "break off"? Was it just laying there next to your stomach? Did he band something else? This is incredible!

I'm sorry that you're having to go through this fiasco....but once you get a band placed properly, you'll start living a new life and enjoy the benefits that the band provides.

Good luck to you!

Dr Fielding is indeed a premiere band surgeon. I think you'll be in great hands! So sorry you're having to do this twice, but you'll find it's still very minor compared to problems that can occur with gastric bypass. In the end, all will work out for you!

I'm really glad you got a lawyer, and I hope you contacted Inamed also.

Good luck with your surgery!

Inamed Corporation is the manufacturer of the only band currently approved for use in the United States. Their website is www.inamed.com, and the person to contact there for just about any issue is Don Mills, don.mills@inamed.com.

Budha, I am really sorry you're having such problems but now that you're in the care of Dr. Fielding you'll be in great hands! He's very well respected and I've heard nothing but good things.

I just went to see him last week. He does teenagers. He is performing surgery on my 16 yr old on 4/1. I have heard nothing but good things about him. When I met him I felt real comfortable letting my daughter experiance and have the success I have.

Does anyone here have a teenager that went through the surgery, or know of a website. I would like her to do some reading before surgery.

Laura, you might want to start a new thread about banding teenagers. Not many people are likely to see it here.

Nice to hear from you!! I've been wondering how you're doing, fellow Jersey girl! :)

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
