Normal or not?

Recommended Posts

Ok...I had my fill this afternoon (3.55 in a 10cc band). My stomach on the bottom feels hungry, but above the band is all gurggley. The liquids have gone down fine, I don't feel like I am re-fluxing or anything, but since this is my first fill, I was curious if this is normal.

Also, how much swelling do you usually get? I feel sore from the needle prick, but there was minimal movement of the actual needle.

Thanks in advance!

Brandy

Ive noticed if I have eaten within a few hours of getting a fill, it gets a bit trapped in the new tighter space and takes a while to work its way down and feels weirder than if I had an empty stomach. Unfortunately I havent always chewed well, and sometimes I have things in there which dont really fit with the new restriction. So if that happens I tend to feel a bit of pain at it scrapes the sides on its way down. Maybe that whats happening?

Grace Utah..

You have lost 108 lbs. since July? Unbelievable! Way to go!

What do you contribute to your success??

I've had 12 fills in 11 months, lost 42 lbs. with 15 or so more to go...much slower weight loss than most, but I'm not working out either...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
