Losing - do you have a copy of the papers you got with your origional surgery, if you requested saline and they fitted sillicone then I smell a lawsuit. Which would incidentally cover the cost of your surgeries  Cant help it its what I do for a living

Tami - I was going to say about things happening for a reason , but that normally provokes one of 2 very different reactions in people! I would say that although the $$ is an absolute nightmare it sounds to me like you would prefer them to work in tandem in a hospital setting, so then the $$ arent the most important thing to you ( well you know what I mean)

You are a very focused and determined woman, if anyone can pull this off you can!

Ousooner - Bummer about the cholesterol, but it desnt affect the surgery and now that you know about it, you can do something about it! Now you can just relax and wait for the big day!!!

I ahvent had any pre-op bloods done yet, they do them the day before in France:eek: but I am taking comfort in the fact that I know from my IVF that I dont have any of the nasties, and I only had my band pre-op done in October last year so things cant have changed that much, and I am a damn sight fitter than I was when I had my band fitted.

Karey - How are you today hon? There is nooooo way that I could cut all of that out of my diet, its the spices and garlic bit that would bum me out! My PS only told me not to take asprin and ibruprofren they didnt seem to be bothered by anything else.

Nana - Hows the post-op recovery coming on and when are we going to see some piccies!!

Nina x

Wow! Wow! Wow! Can life change in an instant or what?! LJM: What a scare. I had to have a diagnostic mammogram for a lump this summer. I know what a frightening experience that can be. So glad you don't have cancer! It makes me wonder about getting implants for myself though. I know several people who have had leaks from their silicone implants. And, I just about made up my mind to go ahead and have a little implant put in. Maybe these things shouldn't be taken so lightly, even though it's possible to do all these wonderful things to make our bodies look better, maybe it's still not a good idea. Hmm. Not sure what I will do. Does this complication mean that you are going to postpone your surgery as well?

Tami: Damn! Damn! Damn! How utterly frustrating! I really sympathize with you. I would be devastated if my surgery had to be postponed. We get our courage up and get all psyched up for it. I know you will work it out so that it all happens in a way that you will feel good about. Keep us posted!

Well, I got a call from lapband doc and she is going to do my port change at the same time that I have my surgery. At least it looks like it will happen. She told me she would charge $250 plus OR time. I thought that sounded like a bargain! She just left a message on my phone, so when I called back, of course, I couldn't get her. Her office said they were working it out with my PS. I hope it all goes off without a hitch. I'm just waiting for the other shoe to fall like it has for Tami and LJM. If I can't get my surgery on March 4, I will have to wait until after my daughter's wedding in May. I wish all the best. Neal, we're all going to be waiting to hear your experiences.

Nana: Thanks so much for posting pics. What an inspiration. Just what I needed. You're one hot grandma! May I ask what your cup size is after the reduction? I'm still trying to decide on implants. Every time I hear a story like LJM, I start to reconsider. Anyway, you're looking great! Do you feel 100%, 80%, 60%? I hope I do as well as you have!

Karey, I feel very close to 100%, although, I still hold the tummy if I sneeze or cough too hard. I still use the TT not to lift anything over 10 lbs, like the laundry basket, hehehe. I had muscle work done with the breast reduction/lift as well, so can't take any pressure there yet, although, he didn't remove my nipples, because they were already in place from B-reduction years ago, (I always say my doctor allowed for droopage, the nipples pointed to the ceiling), now they're right where they belong.

When I'm not on my laptop, I'll attach a pic of me before LB and before the last reduction.

I'm not a hero, by any means, and I'm a real wimp when it comes to "visuals" or even thinking about pulling out the tubes again, ugh! I've got a few stitches that failed to dissolve, had a friend try to pull them out and OUCH!

I'm more anxious for the scars to dissipate, I'm using my Mederma every day and I bought tea tree oil to start using as well. Does anyone know if it's too late for me to start using the herb that starts with an "A", sold at GNC?

Thanks for all the compliments...hugs and good luck to you all.

Nana: Are you talking about Arnica Montana? It's a homepatheic remedy for bruising and sore muscles. It sounds like you probably don't need it now, but it's a very good item to have a round. You can use it when you bump yourself and start to get a bruis e and it shortens the healing time. There are also Arnica gel's out there to use on sore muscles after a workout. I've used it and like it quite well. You might not feel like a hero, but you still are. We can all have our moments for being a wimp, when something hurts. But you're more my hero, because of your common sense approach. I appreciate it. You reallly do look great!

Nana - You might well blush, but I am thinking that you had better get used to the attention :)

As for you being wimpy???? Talk about set the bar for a no-nonesense approach, if I do half as well as you i will be thrilled!!

Bet Mr Nana is thrilled too :)

Karey - have you still not made your mind up about the implants yet? I cant help it, even with all the horror stories I still want them!!

Tami - how are you hunny? I hope that you have got everything sirted out, I cant believe what a total screw up the port thing has turned out to be.

Ousooner - OMG In a week we will be on the brink of the flatlands!!

To all the rest of the merry bunch hope it is all going well!!

Nina xx

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
