I did a post in the 'bama thread referring to this as a reunion....maybe that will lessen the issues as they come up.

I am off to bed, the meds make me sleepy as heck, I have been asleep on poor Rick for an hour. We sat down on the sofa, and next thing I know he is trying to move me nicely so he can go shower, and I have drooled all over his leg....so glad he loves me!!!

See y'all in the morning.

Pamela, I am so glad your sweetie is home---you needed her there.

Good Morning!!!!

I attended my first PTA meeting last night and it was really low key. I introduced myself as "fresh meat" and everyone laughed. Seriously, there were 3 new parents and the core group was SO happy to see us they were falling all over themselves with gratitude.

I am signed up to help with picture day.

I did not weight this morning because I gave in to the DQ demon.

Up and getting ready for work. I have another busy day ahead of me.

Slept wonderful last night but didn't stay up late to watch Olympics.

Have to workout extra hard today to make up for the movie popcorn yesterday.

Need to change the CTCD from Thursday. That's my only day off.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning Violets!

I slept so good last night. I passed out and did not budge until i felt Macy tapping my head at 7:25 AM.

Big Brother watchers...YAY, the witch is gone! Now if they can get rid of the old man, all will be right with the world. He is 2 faced and I can not stand folks like that. Who knows, maybe he isn't 2 faced but that is the way he is being portrayed.

Kat-do you feel better?

Jenn-dd is kinda excited about school. She has been to day cares and preschools since she was born so she is kind of over it, ya know?

Macy is concerned about if I am staying home alone or not while she is at school. She does not want me to be lonely so I had to tell her a little white lie and say I was going to work when she goes to school. I feel bad for having to say that but she would never get on the bus!

Pammie-so glad Susanne is home with you. I know you must be happy. Has she found your new clothes yet? lol

TracyinKS-I am going to sign up too. I don't think the first meeting is for a couple of weeks. I have a little time to decide.

Michelle-why would you have too much on your mind? :huh2:

(and would you really have it any other way?)

Jane-feeling better?

Suzie-don't work too hard!

Judy-why are you going to get brats for the party? All they will do is spoil everyones good time. I hope Macy doesn't turn out to be a one.:lol:

Laura-how is the little momma this morning? Are your boobs sore yet?:wink2:

Terry-hope things are going good for you! How are you?

Haydee-(((hugs))) how have you been?

Everyone have a fantastic day...if I left someone out, it doesn't mean I don't love ya!

Good Morning Vi's~

I too slept hard last night. I didn't think I was going to, I still flet nauseated when I went to bed, and I kind of remember sometime in the night getting really hot, but nothing til the alarm went off at 5! Then Manda tucking Kinsey in bed with me at 6....then the alarm again a few minutes ago. Not sure when the builders are due here, but sometime today, and didn't want to have them ring the bell and find me still in jammies and asleep. I have to go out in the yard and show them the final resting place for the shop.....so got up. Now, I am up, have on a bra, brushed my teeth and hair, and pulled on some clothes---that is as good as it is getting for awhile!!!

Have not eaten anything, but so far my stomach feels better, I do not want to eat.....so am going to have to think on what I might have in a little bit.

For a long time I missed the back to school goings ons-----but have settled into not doing it pretty well. I did run into a totally bizarre kind of NSV thing I never dealt with before this year due to back to school. I got some $$$$ for my birthday so went to buy some new jeans, and there was squat to pick from, so when I mentioned it to the salesgirl in Maurices, she told me, they just had a hard time keeping stock during the back to school times. I have not work a "back to school" size clothes in a hunert years, so I never had the problem. So.....I held onto my $$$ and am waiting. I found nothing in the mall stores, or Target, I was getting so disgusted, til she said that, and I felt pretty doggone good about it then!!

Terry, how are things with your Mom? And your Son? Want an extra son? Mine is on my list!!

I wish they would get here and get started!

I have to go to Farmington and go to the credit union and withdraw money to pay them! I went over last night, and I had put it off til the last minute because I felt crummy. But I sat in line behind another car in the drivethru when they left I pulled up, and the little metal door was closed over the canister. I looked at my clock and it said 5:43--so I hit the call button and nothing. I looked up at the window, and that witch in there was shaking her head no, and flipped a sign around that said closed. I was furious!!! I went around to the front to the walk in, and the sign says they are open from 9 AM to 5:45 PM. WTH???? 5:45??? I look then at their temp/clock sign out front and right then on their own clock it said it was 5:44. I was feeling so bad and was SSSOOOOOOO mad, I told Rick I am going in today and closing every account I have with them. I was sitting in their line---and they closed according to their own clocks early, I will just move my money elsewhere. So today, I am closing the savings account, and as our CD's mature, I am moving them as well. Never have I ever been treated friendly in there, so to heck with them! We originally years ago opened the account at the credit union because they were the cheapest place to finance a used car. We have kept the extra account, so we could use their financing if we wanted, and we liked having things a bit diversified, and it is locally run.....but they can do without my not so big bucks!!! LOL So will I do without them if the builders ever show up!

Well my sleeping beauty is up, so I am going to go fix her some breakfast---she wants toast and jelly--might try a piece and see how it goes! BBL

Good Morning, Violets.. I was up at 7 to let the garage dog out and didn't get to bed until after midnight cause I was watching the olympics. I went back to bed and here it is 10:30 and I'm just getting up again.. YIKES!!!

Tracy... we have sophisticated brats here in Northern Michigan. And even if they don't misbehave....... we EAT them. How's that for behavior modification??

Kat..glad you're feeling better. I don't get Ethan til 3:30 today so I have all morning to get things done around here. Oh wait....... I already slept half the morning away!!!

Michelle..hae a good day today with all your PTA stuff. Last year I roomed with a Lesbian. This year I'll room with a President. woooo hooooo!

Tracyinks...I overdid on granola bars yesterday so I didn't weigh in this morning either. I honestly have not lost anything in months now.. well, I've lost and then gained right back. They are not going to be very happy at the docs when we go back in a couple of weeks. But maybe a little fill will jumpstart the loss. I sure hope so. I'm happy in my size 12 pants and XL or L shirts, but I sure would like to see the scale reflect my exercise and wise eating more.

Jane...glad you're feeling better and TGIF to you!!

Suzie.. I stayed up to watch the men's volleyball and saw the BMX stuff too. I can't imagine riding those little bikes over big bumps is an Olympic sport!!

Everyone have a great day. I'm going to go find some "brunch"! It's looking like rain here right now so I'm really doubting we have the party tomorrow. Oh well.. I'll enjoy my backyard from the window and save money on BRATS!

Mornin' V's!

Yes, I have appt. to get an unfill and to get an ultrasound. The band doc's office called this morning and wants to reschedule to next Wed. Argh!! I am getting scared that I'm going to get morning sickness before I get this unfill, and it is so tight, even late at night I can't eat anything resembling solids.

Sore boobs is the only indication I have, and they are very sore.. it's a very odd pain. I've been reading this pregnancy bible my mom bought me, and I read too much about the birthing process. I'm back to terrified again!! Epesiotimies?:wink2::wink:

Heh.. I told ya'll on Tuesday morning I called a local fill doctor to get info (the one who came and saw me when I was in the ER with potential appendicitis) since my band doc was booked.. Even though they were open I had to leave a voicemail for nurse & reception.

They finally JUST NOW called me back. In my voicemail I mentioned not being able to eat, need unfill, etc.

So she calls me and goes right into "I talked to Dr. M and he said we can do that, but you'll have to do the initial interview (as if I were going to get the surgery) which is $250, and then fills are $250". I was just thinking, wow, way to get business. He talked to me about my band when I was in the ER, and now I gotta pay him more money to talk about a pre-op interview? Gimme a break. That's not even the real issue though, I told her "I explained I had a problem and despite you being open Tues-Thurs, no one ever called me back. I don't like going to doctor's offices where they don't care to call the patient back in a timely manner" .. and hung up.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
