Denise-beautiful house! I'll bet you are SO excited! Have you started packing yet?! lol

No, we've procrastinated, but we started yesterday...I haven't even given notice where I'm living now, I was waiting until I have the keys in hand before I tell them I'm moving...then we'll have a month to pack and move. With the babies, Shannyne's surgery this week and everything else going on I didn't want to rush and stress myself more lol

Good evening, Violets..

Church was really nice today. I had not been there in ages and got lots of compliments on the weight loss. The one I liked best was.. "are you losing weight??". I so wanted to say DUH!!!, but refrained.

Got home after getting the stuff for the spinach strawberry salad and put it together, then took a nice, long nap. We're headed out the door to the meals for 8 now. The weather turned nice and the temp is 74 now. Pool temp is 80. Maybe, just maybe I can get in for a swim and some exercise time tomorrow.

Will check in when we get back tonight.

Tracy are you done unpacking?

Terry, I hope things get better for your mom. I wish there were more words of comfort to say.

Susie, if you were hot like we were today I am sure you enjohed the pool!!

How is your mom Tracyks?

Pam, thanks that is a great idea. I will look into school districts. If I worked for a district, chances are I could still work a few days doing hair.< /p>

Judy, wouldn't it be nice to send you some heat!?!!!!

Kat where are you??? Rodeo right?

Jenn it sure is nice to see you here again.

We went and saw "Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat" it was really good. I have seen it before, but this was the best I have seen.

Tracy, my friend used to live in Galveston for a few years and she said that the water is prettiest in September .... something about the currents changing that time of year. So that's something to remember. What beach do ya'll like to go to?

Hey girls I am home, safe and sound. Was a great weekend. Rally was a blast, good, safe riding, concerts were great (a Van Zandt ---formerly of Lynrd Skynrd on Friday, and Foghat on Sat) were loud and lotsa fun. We left waaaaaay early this morning, so I could get back to do my part in the stock check in, then they could have done it without me. Many times through this, I work really hard, and am left feeling that way, that what I am doing does not matter, that it would be just the same without me. I don't want the thanks that isn't it, I feel superfluous just being there.....hard to explain. Anyway I am done for the day. There is a second stage NHSFR Queen pageant tonight, I skipped out. All the sun and going, and I am totally and completely exhausted. Am off to bed in a minute.

Terry, my Grandma was the same way---she smoked in her hospital bed.....no real cigarette, but she mimed it, EXACTLY like she smoked, and the look of peace as she took the first drag was amazing! And she saw "boys" coming home from the war without their legs, and chastised me all the time for staring! Then she showed me the proper way to mix a cake!!! Another day she was out of bed stomping the snakes----which were actually her IV tubes and the phone cord.

I so understand where you are, we told Grandma many times we loved her, but if it was time to go be with Grandpa we would be ok---but she did it on her own time.....typical Grandma. I miss her every single day! Hugs to you!

Will try to do personals tomorrow, I am off to bed. Will tell you of Rick's tattoo experiences, and seeing the Dallas Cowboys---and all my new NSV's tomorrow. Worst thing about the rally (barring the sand storm.....) was being without contact with you guys!!! I called the kids, and I almost called one of you just to check that all was ok.

I am addicted without a doubt!!!

Kat

BAck from the dinner. It was a nice get together. It stormed while we were out. Luckily we had let Jetta in the house so she wouldn't chew through the paneling we have blocking the giamongous hole she has already chewed through the door.

I'm headed to bed to read for a bit. Ethan comes at noon tomorrow so I can relax and do wiifit in the morning.

Everyone sleep well. Glad you're back safe and sound, Kat!!

Good morning violets!

I am up already. This is the earliest I have been up since July 3rd! DH just left for his first day @ his new job :sneaky: How exciting!

Terri-Believe it or not, that was the first time Frank and I had ever been to the beach together, much less with Macy. (we used to live in Galveston too and had never gone while we lived there, unreal). The Water from afar was beautiful blue & green but the seaweed was rolling in bad. September or October would be my fav time to go cause the weather would be milder. It was scorching yesterday so we did not stay too long but macy had a blast!

Welcome back Kat  We missed you!

Pamela and Jane-who do u like/dislike on bb so far? I can not stand the body builder guy (Jesse?). I do not like that whole little group as a matter of fact. So far (subject to change, LOL) I like the catholic school teacher, the old man, Keesha & Angie and the gay cowboy. When are they going to see that they all need to join forces to be able to outnumber the other group? Stevie Wonder could see that is their only chance! lol

Haydee-how did everything go this weekend?

Suzie-have you had any REAL quality time with your pool yet? Are you loving it?

Jenn-we are back at the same weight again, so come on sister, lets go!

TracyinKS-did you have an ice cream free weekend? I didn't. Forgive me father for I have sinned....

Terry & Haydee-look out...Tropical Storm Dolly is in the gulf  UGH....I wish they could predict these things better.

Laura-hi chickkie!! How are you? Did you do any studying this weekend? When are you supposed to graduate?

Judy-I sure miss seeing your little icon that you used of the cheerleader :blushing: It inspired me so much. If (when) I make it under 200 again will you improvise?

Denise-when you get your pool we can schedule a pool party at your house  We can pool hop from Suzies house to yours then Judys and by then maybe Pamela will have one?!

Have any of you tried the new coffee creamer called Cinnamon Bun? OMG!!

Michelle-no hurry on the books, other than summer will be over in about 6 weeks, but no pressure  lol But seriously, to keep you from the trouble of mailing them maybe there is a web site I can go to for ideas. Do you know any?

Guys, I am really sad for Macy cause she misses her friends at school. She is even drawing pics of them  But when I ask her if she wants to go back to school (day care) to play with her friends she says "NO, but they can come over here". I thought about a mothers day out 2 or 3 times a week for a few hours for just the social benefit...we will see how this week goes.

Have a great day violets!

Big Daddy D's LowCarbohydrate.BlogSpot.com

The second one has AMAZING receipes...I am starving now from reading through 'em.

The first one discusses in detail carb cycling...very interesting.

Hey Violets,

Tracy~ I love BB this year ( i say that everytime). I like Keesha, Memphis (although I hate Jessie...what a punk asss) and I like Angie. Jerry is cool, but I don't like his voice. And Renny is a hoot, but she gets on my nerves quickly! I liked Brian, but that was short lived, although he was very arrogant. The Catholic teacher guy is like a total goober...good looking but weird.

Good Almost Afternoon, Violets..

More storms hit last night, but today is a bright, sunshiny day. I better go turn the solar heating panels on and hope the pool warms up.

Ethan comes in an hour for the rest of the afternoon. Bob is working at the Democratic party headquarters maning the office. I got 36 minutes in on the wiifit this morning. Sure do love that thing!!

Everyone have a good day! Make wise choices. TracyK.. I couldn't find the cheerleader icon I used to have, but found another one for you and ME!!

The Wiifit is definitely helping with that. Plus the Pb'ing doesn't hurt. But of course I can't count on that as a weight loss tool!!

I'm cleaning out drawers today waiting for Ethan to arrive. He should be here any minute. Then the fun begins.

The sun left and it's cloudy and looking like rain again. sighhhhhhhhh

Tracy and Pam, I think Jesse is very stuck on himself, so don't like him. I don't really like Renny, one of the blondes I don't like. The gay cowboy hasn't really hit me one way or another yet. I will have favs next couple shows.

I GET MY FILL ON FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think.

I am going to go have lunch with a friend and then see Mama Mia! I hope it is good. I love musicals!!

Have a good lunch!!!

Jane

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
