Congratulations! I'm so impressed with how hard you've worked! You deserve all the accolades you can get! Way to go! From reading your first entry I can see that I should probably go down in calories. I use the body bugg and try and get a 1000 calorie a day defiecit. I usually burn about 2400 calories a day (that exercising 1-2 hours a day) and I usually eat abuot 1400 calories a day. Probably eating too much, huh? I'm having the hardest time getting the last 20 pounds off. Did you ever hit the wall or was your weight loss pretty steady?

I actually hit a wall. My Dr told me that I was done and my body had shut down. I was at about 70% I think at that point. That wasn't gonna work for me, so I worked harder. I started Herbalife shakes and their nutrition, that seemed to be what helped me get the rest off. I wasn't eating any different when I stoppped loosing. It just quit.

I don't know much at all baout the body bugg, but I stayed around 800 and lost quite well until the last 30 or so. Then I pushed nutrition and got it all off! Good luck!

You're a sweetheart for replying. I used Sunrider products for a while and found that I felt better uisng them, but it didn't get any more weight off. I'm still losing but it's only like 2-4 pounds a month. It seems like nothing until I look back at my history. My doc told me to stop worrying about it. I said, but my BMI is still too high and she said, I look thin, I'm muscular and with the TT I should be fine. My trainer says the same thing, but I can see that I still have fat in a few places. I don't know when to really call it quicks. I'm going to keep pushing until after the surgery and until I get back to exercising, etc. and see how my body responds. I know know if I could go back to 800 calories a day. I admire your determination. I'm a little diet weary, but I'm not weary of taking care of myself, exercising and trying to be healthy. Does that make sense? I may do something more extreme at some point, but not right now. How many calories a day to you eat to maintain your new weight?

Congratulations. I was banded on 11/14/2007 so I am really just starting my journey. I joined 24 hour fitness and hired a personal trainer for my first five weeks to get me started on the right equipment. I am also going to do aerobics class. So it was nice seeing your post and getting some more encouragement. Keep up the good work.

OK, my dear you should NOT BE DIET WEARY! This is NOT a diet, it is a lifestyle change! Your frame of reference can make all the difference!! Take that nasty 4 letter word out of yuor vobaulary! It is not good to even have it there in your frame of mind! It just doesn't belong!

Secondly, it could be your body just needs a break. If you keep going and not detering from what you are doing it will loose again. Sometimes it needs a bit to rest and catch up to the weight loss.

As far as what I eat now, it is a bit of a problem...I still eat 800 or less. Not that I need to loose, it has just become hard to change my eating. Which is good and bad. I am trying to stay off the scale, I can tell by clothing how I am doing. I am now a 6, and smaller than I ever anticipated. I will get it out of my head soon I hope!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
