My blender SUCKS

Recommended Posts

I've read a LOT of people use & be happy with the Magic Bullet. In all honesty, I'm not so much a fan of Protein Shakes - and mostly used the blender to puree some Soups. A Protein Shake here or there is all I take in.

My Surgeons not too big on liquid meals - so as soon as my 3 wks post op was up, he wanted me on solids. They fill you up for longer and provide more Protein than a smoothie would.

I don't think you have to spend a lot to get what ya need -

I have a small Cuisinart food processor, do you think that might do the same job as a blender?

Bullets are great......as long as they work. But they don't hold up long according to the customer reviews on several sites. I've used my Hamilton Beach Personal Blender 2 - 3 times/day for nearly 2 years....it crushes ice, blends great and is very easy to clean. $12-$14 at Target, Kitchen Connection, etc. I know several others who have had good luck with theirs, too.:clap2:

Eek, I just saw that! I wonder what kind of plastics are used in these things... you should only use things that are food grade plastic, like polycarbonate...

GG, I'm sorry if I've led you astray!

No worries, the majority of customers were very satisfied. 80% gave high praises. It's just like any other product, there are always going to be some flukes in the bunch.

I bought the magic bullet from ebay. I don't remember what I paid for it but it was in about the low 50's including the S&H. It is the most used small appliance that I ever bought. Even my sons (adult) use it. I love it!

I was hesitant about Magic Bullet because of the number of negative reviews, so I looked around and bought this one:

I like that I can use Mason jars as containers - I have an abundance of those - and that it has a grinder blade, too, so I can grind flax seeds.

It's working great for me. I've made small 2-4 oz Protein shakes using fruit and big ice cubes as well as pureed Soups. It's small enough that I don't mind it sitting on the counter, plus it traveled easily to my mother's house for holiday dinner.

HTH!

I LOVE MY MAGIC BULLET!! It is the best kitchen investment I have ever made. About a week after I had it I cleaned out my kitchen cubbards and donated all of my other small appliances to clear up space. No more juicer, food processor, blender, coffee grinder, ice crusher, smoothie maker, etc. My bullet does it all and it is so small!!! I got mine on ebay (the whole 21piece set) for $38 brand new. It was a steal of a deal. I went the cheap way before and bought a lookalike and it didn't crush ice worth a crap. The bullet cushes the ice just like a restaurant style blender does (you know the one that makes frozen margharitas), well let me just tell you, the MB makes the best damn margharita I have ever had. No more going out for a good margharita. I could sing praises for my MB all day long.

If anyone is looking for an appliance that is going to be incredible and continue to be of a great help throughout your whole journey then I recommend the Vita Mixer, yes it is expensive, I thought about it for years before I broke down and bought it and it is worth every penny!!!

If you happen to have a Home and Garden expo coming up near you anytime soon they usually have a booth there with great show special pricing too.

Here is their website:

High performance blenders from Vita-Mix Corporation.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
