Isopure clear protein drink

Recommended Posts

GNC also has fruit flavored Isopure. I used to drink them after I was banded, but got tired of them a couple months after and started trying other things to get my Protein in. They are a good source of protein if you're not getting in the protein that you need.

You can lose your hair if you lack Protein too much. It doesn't happen all that often, but it certainly can happen if you do not at least try get enough Protein. Isopure is available at GNC I like the Alpine Punch and Blue Raspberry. It's like 40g I believe per bottle, they are about $4.00 per bottle give or take. I think you can get a discount if you buy in bulk though. Also, I put unflavored Protein powder in foods that it can be mixed into, that works pretty well.

Thanks! I'll be making a trip to GNC this week.

The Isopure CLEAR is the one that has the flavors and is 40 gms a bottle. After the first week, I continue to drink them, but once I could add "full" liquids the second week, I started adding the Atkins low carb shakes, but they are only 15 gms a can.

You can get the Atkins advantage shakes almost anywhere. Supermarkets, pharmacies, wholesale food clubs (BJ's) Walmart etc.

I am not a fan of the Protein Shakes and stil on liquids. I found special K makes a Protein Water drink mix-in that is 30 cals and 5 grs of protein and 5 gr Fiber. I prefer it with double the recommended amount of water. It is like crystal light with protein. It was on sale for around $4.00 for seven packets. No grit, not milky, it is fantastic.

I drink the Special K protein water betweens meals now ( at one mont out) but in the first couple weeks, the only way for me to get in the required protein was the Isopure CLEAR.

My Dr. did not allow the protein powders in the first two weeks post op.

Thanks! I'll be making a trip to GNC this week.

Look on GNC.com. You can get their gold card and get extra savings off a case of the Isopure. A lot of the time they have free shipping incentives also, so you can have it delivered right to your door instead of carting it all home from GNC-it is quite heavy for a case! They have a case with a bunch of different flavors so you can try them, but my favorite so far is the grape. I hate other Protein drinks and these are the only ones I can tolerate-I think they are great!

I was seriously wanting some refreshment, took four sips of Isopure and threw it in the garbage. It tasted horrible to me. I was much better off with Myoplex RTD shakes and making shakes myself. During my clear liquid stage (only a week) I was told not to worry about Protein, as it takes awhile for Protein deficiency to start to bother you.

It's all relative though to what you personally like. I would advise against buying a lot of anything until you are sure you like it. I made that mistake with the protein bullets, and they are still sitting in my house.

I totally agree about not buying too much of any one product until you try it. They are expensive and I'm glad I didn;t buy a case of the Isopure, but we did go back for a few more bottles.< /p>

Wasn't that I loved the Isopure, but it was just a way to get the Protein in and I barely got much of anything in the first four days. I had no appeitite until about day 5.

Isopure GRAPE frost is about the only one I could drink easily...

I like these Protein Slams (bullets) also found at GNC... they are like Jello shots of protien... easy to slam down and have your protein...

Also... while your at GNC you might pick up the OHYeah wafers they are seriously delicious (kind of like a dry kit kat) but they work for me even at tight restriction and have lower carbs/sugar and a lot of Protein.< /p>

What I usually do is find a product in store and then if I like it go on line to order in bulk using promo codes .... GOOD LUCK!

I'm going to give it a try, just one bottle. My problem with Protein shakes at this point is that I have a milk aversion and can't seem to get past it.

Jewelee: Isopure CLEAR is not like a milk shake. It is clear like crystal light, but it has 40 gms of Protein, so if you can tolerate even one a day, it's a quick way to get in a lot of protein in one bottle.

It's not the best tasting thing, it was just a way to get my protein in while on the liquid post op diet.

I liked the apple melon.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
