Back on track....sort of

Recommended Posts

OK I did bad yesterday too. first day back to work. I can eat almost everything. No hard meat but everything pureed and creamy. I ate 3 chocolate truffles 2 Cookies and 2 spoonfulls of Peanut Butter. I ate it all slowly but I ate it. so last night I went out and bought a scale. the first scale I have ever owned. I am hoping that will help me a little. I did start my period today so I kind of understand why I ate the chocolate and peanutbutter. But I am not going to beat myself up about it.

OK I am going to TRY not to beat myself up about it. lol

I am going to enjoy the new years. I am not on a diet. I am working on a lifestyle change. and change takes time.

Have you tried sucking on Werther's Originals candy? It is very nummy, caramel flavored... when I used to diet it helped me stay on track at work. I think they are one point for three (my WW knowledge, ha ha).

No today I have my "allowed" food. I did call my dr and told him what I ate yesterday he asked me some questions about the Peanut Butter and said I am ok. And that I can slowly move to the next stage...the one that peanut butter and nuts and meat is allowed he just told me to go slow and wait between bites. If I have any pain or if anything feels like it isnt going down to not have that again for a few days.

He also told me to stop feeling guilty for having a bit of chocolate. he said "you didnt eat as much as you would of with out the band right?" and that I am still doing normaly.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
