Hi guys just checking in . Its been a while. I had my surgery june 4. I was 217 & i am now 153. Super happy with my results. Im considering getting a reduction because i have severe backaches. Lastly, keep me in prayer. I recently lost my grandma (dec 9) its been hard.

You're looking so good! Not to give TMI, but I would love a reduction as well because I am constantly getting rashes now, especially underneath one breast, from the loose skin. Having my doctor document the issues for maybe insurance to cover it someday.

And I'm so sorry about your grandma. That's so hard, and right at the holidays, too.

So sorry to hear about your loss. You look fantastic though. If you do get a reduction you may want to wait a bit just to make certain your weight had stabilized. Insurance does cover it sometimes if it’s medically necessary because of rashes and such as mentioned by @NickelChip which requires alot of documentation but your bariatric dr should know what to do for that and also for back pain but I was told that they have to remove a pretty significant amount of breast tissue that may not leave you with the cosmetic result you desire to do it for back pain through insurance. It’s certainly worth doing a consult with a cosmetic surgeon though to get their advice though.

You're looking fantastic! I lost my brother recently, its never easy, I'm sorry you lost your grandmother. Take care of yourself, it sometimes becomes a second thought and sometimes a third after we lose a loved one. My thoughts are with you.

So sorry to hear you lost your grandma OP. You have done amazingly and you look absolutely stunning. I'm sure your grandma was really happy for you too.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
