Yet Another sipping question

Recommended Posts

Hi Sheila, gulping will get you into trouble. I can actually PB Water if I'm not careful. Early on you don't really have restriction so the tendancy is to gulp. You have to retrain yourself to sip because when you do get restriction it will be a must. Good luck.

My doctor told me that they don't go straight through. liquids build up, like if you were pouring Water in a funnel, if you pour too fast, it will overflow, you have to give it time to get through the narrow opening.

I was told we have to wait 1/2 hour before and 1/2 hour after. The before is so you don't fill up on liquids and not be able to eat and the after is so you don't push food through and get hungry faster. I don't know....just what I heard!:scared:

Yep, foods tend to slide through faster if they are lubricated with a liquid. The idea is to fill quickly and feel satiated for a long period of time. However, that being said, let me WARN you all.... if and when you get some food that seems to go down and stick, do not, I repeat DO NOT EVER TRY TO WASH IT DOWN WITH A LIQUID. That is a recipe for a PB if there ever was one. It's like pouring Water in a plugged up toilet. Isn't going to do anything but come back up.

That is exactly what my doc told me. I know it will be hard not to drink with meals for me, but I am trying to do that now so it won't be so hard to later.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
