Someone tell me this isn't a mistake

Recommended Posts

I had sleeve surgery 4 days ago, May 12th. First, I developed a liver bleed and had to have blood. I wasn't able to move around and got Fluid in my lungs, now I have uncontrolled bowel movements and I am pooping myself. It's Friday May 16th and I'm still in the hospital. I'm hoping to go home today. Please tell me the uncontrolled diarrhea will pass. I'm so discouraged. I'm wondering if I didn't make a huge mistake.

I’m so sorry you’re going through all this…

I had straight diarrhea for a couple weeks until my body recovered from the shock of surgery. Remember, your body has gone through a lot, and is adjusting to the changes of your new digestive track. And along with the other issues you’re having it is quite stressful.

Give it some time and just concentrate on getting better.

Yes it will pass. I had diarrhoea as soon as I came around from surgery. I had 6 days in hospital. Its big surgery and we somehow don't realise this when we think we only stay in hospital 1 day. Don't despair. It is rough for many off us in the beginning. The first weeks are such a learning curve and add some pain and discomfort into the mix, many of us had major regrets. Hang in there

It will pass. I went through some really serious complications that nearly killed me about two months after my procedure and now 21 months out, I would still do it again in a heartbeat. I am so sorry you're having to deal with this, though. Stay strong and stay positive. I know it's hard.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
