Hey tall ladies! Im 6"1' and my sizes have stayed pretty consistent. Im usually 1/2-1 whole size smaller on the top than the bottom.

In the beginning:

344- 24/24 top 26 bottom both (pretty snug)

Now:

298- 18-22 top (varies by store) 22/24 bottoms

If I remember correctly I should be an 18/20 (top) and 22 (bottom) at 280. I dont have any weight lower than that to compare. Anything below that was when I was 14, didnt weight myself, and wore men's jeans. Womens' 36 inseams were hard to come by in '94. They still are.

The funny thing is that I have always fit a Gap xxl top.

the moral of the story: Ive been fat for a long time.

I'm 5'5" and 184. I fit into size 10 or 12 pants, but tops I am at least an XL.

My daughter, on the other hand, is about the same height, 199, and fits into size L tops, but wears size 16 jeans.

If we stand face to face, maybe we look like one of those yin-yang drawings.

It's amazing how much size differences a few inches of height makes! At 5'2" I am still in an 18-20 (L-XL) at 188 lbs. I guess I'd have to lose another 100 lbs to get down to a size 10 or 12. Very frustrating!! I've noticed over the years (and I'm 63) that at my height I can divide my weight by 10 and know my approximate clothing size (ex: at 240 lb I wore a 24, at 280 lbs I worse a 28).

~sigh~

I used to be able to list off the size that I wore at a certain weight, for example I packed 14/16 tops and 18/20 bottoms for my honeymoon when I weighed about 240 -ish. I'm about 5'9" Now however after delivering a baby via emergency c-section I can no longer tell. At 269 lbs my top is already down to and 18/20 and my bottom is firmly lodged at a 23 due to a nice shelf that is left over from giving birth.

I will be estatic once my whole body is in the 18 range and I can shop in New York and Company. I guess it's a personal goal of mine.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
