Hi everyone my name is lizzy, just had my VSG about 6 months ago so far I’ve lost 90 pounds and I’m feeling great!!!! My only struggle is taking down these Vitamins I’ve tried it multiple different time and it all seems to make me nauseous still , from pill capsules to chewables… idk what else do I force my self to take it but I just hate the nausea part. My hair did fall out so I had to cut it short which helped and now it doesn’t fall as much , since my hair was long I felt the heaviness of it and now I just feel light weight all around lol . I do have a question though… why is that I feel cold all the sudden ? It’s winter time now in Las Vegas and my body cannot stand this cold I’m always cold and achy from it …. Any ideas pls thank you!!!!

a lot of people feel cold all the time after surgery. For some it's temporary, for others it's permanent. Some of it is probably due to you have less "insulation" than you did before, but because that cold feeling can sometimes start within weeks of surgery (before most people have lost much weight), I suspect something about the surgery affects your inner thermostat, too. In my case, it was temporary - but some people are always freezing and have to wear extra clothes!

Have you tried the vitamin patches? I've heard others say they had good luck with them.

Being cold is a common complaint. I once saw a picture of a gal wearing a down vest and long sleeve shirt. She showed the thermometer - it was 105 degrees. Maybe an electric throw blanket, or heating pad will help?

I use various Patches for sleep and so I was curious about this as well, but my surgeon advised against these specifically indicating the absorption is just not consistently vthere enough to meet our needs.

Hmm... Have you tried taking your Vitamins at mealtime? I know that food can buffer the tummy.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
