Incision questions???

Recommended Posts

Hey all! I am wondering about the incision sites????

First, how many cuts do you have???? I have 7 and was surprised to find that out since I am considered a "lightweight" at 85lbs over.

Second, my steri-stips have begun to peel off (at 6 days post surgery) and are leaking a bit??? Is this to be expected??? It doesn't even look like they are sealed with anything beside the glue which is pealing away??? I don't want deep scaring!!!!:help:

I was also banded on the 12th. I do not have any sterile strips though, it is just the glue on top and internally I have stiches. Also, I wonder why you have 7 cuts - I only have 5? 4 are small 1/2 inch long and 1 is about 3 inches and that is where my port is located. All of them look bruised and gross, but the doc told me today it looks fine-even the one that is bleeding a little bit.

I have 5 incisions 3 little ones, 1 inch and a half, and one half inch. Is the big one really the port site? My doctor told me he was going to put the port under my breasts and I have a small scar there.

I have 6 incisions - 4 really small, one about an inch and the other about 2 inches. All with just the Dermabond glue, so I can see the gory bits nice and clearly ;)

I Was Banded On December 4 And I Have Seven Incisions. My Doctor Told Me That It Was Because Internally I Was "small." My Strips Started To Fall Off About 5-6 Days After The Surgery And One Of My Small Incisions Sort Of Opened. I Called My Doctor And They Told Me To Keep Them Covered Until It Starts To Scab. The Open Incision Sort Of Bleed A Little But Stopped The Night Of It Opening. All Together Out Of The Seven Incisions, I Only Have Two "big" Incisions. Good Luck And I Hope I Helped.

I had my surgery on 12/6/07. I have 5 incisions. Three are about 4mm, one is about 10mm, and the port incision is about 30mm or so. I have steri-strips on all of them and they haven't even started to peel yet. I've heard it can take about 3 weeks, so maybe next week they'll start coming off!

I have 5, 3 small and 2 big.

Most of mine are gone but for 1 located on the big cut.

I had this little scar tissue hanging from bigger part and i pulled on it and didnt know a small piece of string was attached to it.... ouchhhyy

so now the little tissue part is gone and i got a piece of string hanging from my stomach attached to the bigger scar =p

I been rubbing my 5 opening with Aloe juice every night. Hopefully not to have bad scars.

I'm gonna use cocoa butter on mine once my steri-strips come off. I was told not to put anything on mine until then. I'm hoping the scarring isn't too bad!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
