As my post mentions. I have lost two pounds in five weeks. To me that is pretty much nothing. I shouldn’t stall after one week.

I lost 0 lbs in 5 weeks. Yes it can happen and it is normal. I lose alot slower than others on here because I have a knee issue and cannot walk any real distance (I need a knee replacement and keep putting it off).

I believe I lost 22 lbs pre op then 14 lbs in like 9 days post op then after that I was on a 5 week stall no weight loss whatsoever. It can certainly play mind games with you.

I am 5 months post op and I lose only about 7-10 lbs per month. But not all months, for example in Sept I think I only lost 5 or 6 lbs and so far October isnt looking that great either lol. I just take what I can get at this point. As long as I am not gaining, I see it as a small victory ;)

Same, same and same! 10lbs pre-op. About 13lbs in first 14 days. Then nothing for almost 3 weeks now. I can't walk much because of a hip and knee issue I need addressed. Was hoping to get some weight off before any replacement surgery. I'm frustrated but staying the course. Almost a week late on my cycle too. Which was like clockwork pre-op.

I keep saying that patience will prevail here. That and staying the course!

Nothing that new since what I posted earlier last week on this thread.

Still no real weight loss. Did loose a cm in a couple areas. But that could also be my measurements being off as it’s hard measuring your own arms.

Cat scan showed my pouch is bigger but that I did indeed have surgery. No blockages. But apparently I still have a hernia which is strange since I paid Mexico to fix that. Did sleep apnea testing with an at home machine that didn’t go great so now they said that I have to go in and stay the night so that could also be affecting my weight since I never sleep. And not sleeping messes with the metabolism.

i also have a fatty liver which is weird because I hardly ever drink but obviously it’s because of my obesity.

Still waiting on the internal medicine referral so hopefully that comes soon.

I will still continue to track everything and bust my butt and hope that one day it’ll just start coming off.

I'm glad for a couple of things for you. That you have a team willing to work to find answers. That the surgery DID actually happen - has to be a relief to you! My doc said the hernias can cause some swelling, I wonder if that is a factor here? Or if they repaired it and it recurred so quickly, why?

Keep after it! Finding answers and staying the course. I KNOW you must want to quit some days. Don't do that. Try to focus on the behaviors that you are doing, that will ultimately lead to a healthier body. And when your body gets sorted out, you will be in such a better place to have tangible, noticeable losses. Cheering you on!!

You have lost 21 pounds in a month. That is very good for weight loss surgery. As for the timing of it, it seems like sometimes the loss happens in a weird way, like not evenly. Some people will lose 5 pounds steadily every week, but other people will lose 20 pounds in 2 weeks and then lose nothing for the next 2 weeks. It can be weird like that. But overall, you have lost 21 pounds in 1 month, which is good.

I think you are confused and need to reread the ENTIRE thread. I have not lost 21 pounds in a month. I wish!!

Surgery Aug 12 wishing that week I was at my family dr who weighed me in at 367.

this morning……almost eight weeks later… I WEIGH 364. Sooooo my math says 3 pounds since Aug 19 dr appointment.

so I have lost 3 pounds in 2.5 months. It’s very frustrating to me when people say oh well you’ve lost 21 pounds in a month when that’s clearly not the case and like I had mentioned before it was Water weight my body likes to hold onto every drop of water.

I mean we’re even at the point now we’re doctors and dieticians are saying somethings wrong so it’s not just me being crazy :)

I know this is hard to read and even harder to hear, but one of the worst things you can do is compare yourself to others (I am no different and have been having this problem for the last few weeks myself). You’re the only you and there is no one else like you that has your exact situation, weight, metabolism, etc. Just try to stay focused with your post op and doing the best you can. That’s all any of us can do.

195 weight when I went in for surgery
199 weight when I got home for surgery
193.2 weight 4 days after surgery
If the inflammation from surgery is resolved, I've lost 1.8lbs in 4 days.

Had surgery last Thursday, so I've been home for 2 days as of 15 minutes ago.  I weighed more when I got discharged than when I went in despite only having eaten a Jello cup in 2 days, but I put that down to inflammation. This morning I weighed a little less than I went in.  I sneezed last night and my fiance saw me cry for the first time, and we've been together 16 years. I took my multivitamin first thing this morning and threw up. Kept it down after drinking 4oz protein shake. Yogurt gives me diarrhea, water hurts more than the fuller liquids, and my stomach is turning somersaults and I think I'm hungry because I'm used to interpreting it that way, but I have no desire to eat.
My biggest problem is that I am used to being busy.  I own a business and I've been getting active on these boards, and when I'm on my laptop I forget to drink. Will I hurt myself if I drink faster?  I've been scheduling 4oz every 30 minutes with breaks before and after meals.  Is it too fast to drink 4 oz in 15 min to get caught up on what I missed?

      tl:dr at bottom,
I could use some advice. I went to see my dietician today (not a bariatric surgery dietician, I can explain why I am seeing her if you want to know). She knows I am going to have weight loss surgery as long as I hit the goal weight my insurance told me I need to be at. I have to be at the goal weight by June 24, 2023, in order for my insurance to pay for my surgery.
I had a weigh in the doctor's office a couple of days ago and weighed 301, my scale at home said 302. However, on the same day, the scale at a friend's house said 313.
I knew I had this Dietician appointment two days later and I knew she would weigh me. I continued to weigh myself at home (after getting new batteries) and I was at 302 then 299 and today at home I weighed 303, right before my appointment, when I got to her office I was weighed and it said 313.
I am concerned about what to believe since the doctor's office and my scale show similar numbers. I also bought a new scale today and it said 313.
The Dietician told me I needed to eat more protein, which honestly I struggle with. she said I needed 150 grams!!  I said are you kidding? that seems like a lot.  She used my weight to come up with this number.
Should I really be trying to eat enough protein for a 300-lb person or should I be eating protein for a goal-weight person (mine is 170)?
also, my clothing is loose like I lost the 20 lbs mine and the doctor's scale shows, and not 10 lbs like everyone else's scale shows. Also, I have always naturally been more muscular even when I was 120 lbs and did not eat any protein aside from what is in plants.
tl:dr- should I be eating enough protein to support a 300lb person or should I be eating protein for a "normal" sized person? AND should I trust the Doctors scale more so than the Dietician's scale?

I had the same issue. My scale was 6 pounds heavier than my bariatric doctor's. My scale agreed with my nutritionist's scale. I asked my bariatric doctor to have her scale recalibrated and she said it was a really expensive scale, so she trusted it. So, when it comes down to it, the scale that matters isn't the one that's right, it's the one that determines if you get your surgery or not. I would ask her when it was last calibrated and see if she will calibrate it. The difference is I Iost weight so well on the lifestyle change diet that I had to stop losing weight or risk not getting the surgery.
