Compression garment

Recommended Posts

Has anyone been told they will use a compression garment after Sleeve surgery? I asked my dr nurse and she said the dr would decide after my surgery.

Your medical team's answer, actually, is the only answer that matters.

What we say, as you know, strangers on the internet, should not matter to you at all.

But, you do you, I guess.

Good luck,

I woke up with one on and it’s been very helpful and at times annoying & irritating.

If your team doesn’t recommend one and you feel like maybe you want to wear one, ask them why they aren’t recommending one. They may have a very good reason for it and following your teams plan is always best.

Best of luck!

I woke up from surgery with a stomach binder on. I was told that it was for my comfort and I could remove it or put it back on as desired. I didn’t have a lot of pain post op and I took it off when I got home from hospital and didn’t notice a big difference but have heard people on here say it helped them a great deal. They do sell them on Amazon but I agree with above post that you should probably ask your surgeon first.

I had one after plastic surgery, but not bariatric surgery.

I was given one in the hospital but it was more annoying than helpful so I never used it.

My team didn't suggest it one way or another, but when my sister had her surgery (gastric bypass), she swore it was a life saver. I asked a nurse when I was in the hospital if I could wear one and she was more than happy to give one to me.

It was helpful for me, but everyone is different.

Thanks everyone for your responses. Definitely following whatever my dr says. There are so many varied requirements by doctors for before and after surgery, especially the pre-op diet that I have read on here. Not comparing, just wondering.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
