This may be a silly question and truthfully I'm just impatient. Anyone that has gotten any tattoos pre/post opp, what was your time frame?

I'd like to get a small forearm tattoo in memory of my brother that passed a year ago. I haven't gotten my surgery date but I know they will be contacting me this week to set it up in mid-late July. I clearly don't want to risk any hold up on my surgery, but I'm also just trying to get a time frame. Any insight is appreciated.

I really don't think there is a time frame. I'm covered in tattoos. My surgery was in January & my last pre-op tattoo was in December. My first post-op tattoo was in May (but that was because the artist was booked). It's not like donating blood where they ask you those types of questions.

I'm not really concerned about being asked about it as much as possible risks. The body is already trying to heal one thing and then adding another on top of it, ya know.

That time frame def. helps, thanks! It will help too when I actually get a set date, but again... just impatient lol.

You could use this as a reward for reaching your goal weight if it’s something you are really looking forward to. Just a thought.

Another consideration may be your potential for loose skin & where you may want to put the tattoo. You can end up with loose skin everywhere & we all end up with some. I even have some on my hands & fingers. Never expected that. Maybe better to wait until you’re close to your goal.

The only concern would be infection of the tattoo site in my opinion. If you go to a reputable artist and do the proper aftercare and keep it super clean it should not be an issue at all. I have gotten 3 pist op staring at 4 months. No issues at all

As a 63 year old woman, I was quite amused to be asked if I had, had any piercings in the last 6 months. It would have affected my surgery. As an after thought I would loved to say I had a Prince Albert piercing just to see their faces

[emoji1787][emoji28][emoji23] That just made my day. I'm sure there would be jaws hitting the floor.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
