I'm struggling losing weight

Recommended Posts

I know y'all are probably tired if seeing my post lol. But I'm struggling at losing weight. It's been 5 weeks since my surgery and I haven't lost anything in 3 weeks. My dr said it's sluggish. I'm going to call my nutritionist but not sure how much help she will be. I'm not cheating at all. I'm completely on the plan. I thought maybe it was my Protein. (Not getting enough). But even with getting 60g or more. I still haven't lost. What's going on with me 😭😭😭. I'm still under 600 calories. Geez how can I not be losing on eating 600 calories or less. I need to get this figured out.

Hi!
Start with are you logging everything going in…
You may just not be getting in enough Protein and Water. Log everything and get with your nutritionist.
You’re still pretty early in the process so any adjustments will be easily corrected with your nutritionist. Wish you the best of luck. Keep your chin up. There are a lot of ups and downs in the losing process. So try and be patient as you are on a roller coaster ride of emotions and physical changes.
This forum is a wealth of information. People on here have helped me tremendously.
Wish you the best

You are in the third week stall. You will drop soon.

If you truly are logging and measuring everything precisely, and your intake is under 600 calories it is impossible for you not to lose weight. It has to be the three week stall. Sometimes it can last a little while. I know it’s hard but try to trust the process. The weight loss will start again soon.

another good idea is to take your measurements many of us find even though the scales don't move the centimetres do .

Hang in there! Like you said, it's pretty much impossible not to lose weight on 600 calories per day. It could be hormones, Water retention, etc, that's making it appear that you aren't losing. Right now, the scale owes you, and it will come with a big WOOSH!! (possible after a day or 2 of peeing your brains out!) Just keep doing what you are doing! Log your food and stick to your plan!

I have not lost anything in a full 3 weeks!! Im so aggravated beyond measure! I lost I think 22 lbs fast before surgery. after surgery (May 3rd) by day 9 I was down another 14 lbs. Nothing since not a single pound. In fact I go back and forth with gain a pound then lose the pound. It is very frustrating to say the least. My team tells me I hit an early plateau after 9 days.. because I lost 36 lbs quickly. But dang lol 3 weeks out and still nothing. Now all that being said I cannot exercise much because I am pending a knee replacement as far as walking goes. I used to tell myself it was because of that but the 22 lbs I lost pre surgery I did not exercise either. So unfortunately for me I have to suck it up and trust the process and hope for the best at this point. I am very discouraged tho to say the least. It wears on me pretty heavily. I do notice clothes fitting loose and my boobs have took a big hit to my husbands dismay lol. Thighs and hips also are seeing inches coming off but that darn scale doesnt move lol

3-4 weeks of stall. Majority of us have gone through it.

When you're losing a huge amount of weight right after surgery (water weight) you're bound to stall for few weeks (as you regain Water weight while lose fat/muscle simultaneously following weeks). Do watch the above shared video.

Stalls will happen and you should be ready for it. Good Luck.

I wonder how long it will last.

I didn't lose before surgery. So my total weight loss has been 17lbs. I'm like you. Gain a pound then lose it. I've never been an over eater. But I thought with me not eating a lot of carbs and no sugar. I would lose more then I have so far. It's just so frustrating.

I just read that consuming under 800 calories may contribute to a stall. I've been so busy tracking Water and Protein that I haven't been really monitoring calories but I'm sure I'm under. Anyone else been told this?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
