Feeling like blah unmotivated impatient this lap band crap is confusing

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I'm a bandster and got my surgery in Jan 2022. I just got a fill today it's my third one I'm now at 6cc in a 10cc band. My doctor told me because I am tight I need to go on a liquid diet. Can anyone tell me is it normal to feel freaking hungry? I've had Soup fat free yogurt Water idk if it's more mental hunger or what does this mean the fill didn't do a damn thing this just sucks my son's baptism is in July and I want to loose another 15 pounds by then but I feel this fill isn't gonna do it ? But then I figure of course I'm hungry liquids just go right through and that I will really know if it's tight or not once I start solids..... Any advice suggestions thanks guys

It is normal to feel hungry. The band doesn't take away that sensation. It just helps/forces you to eat slower so you feel satiated sooner. liquids just pass right threw the band so you won't feel satiated till you eat solid food.

Correct, you need to start eating solid food to maxmise the effect of the band. 6cc in 10cc band is a good amount, should ideally be in or close to the green zone. I have created a 20min master class video that will help you in your journey if you would like to take a look at https://helen-bauzon1.aweb.page/p/d4ff1c92-6d88-4860-bd57-cc44aaa50e3a

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
