Hi guys
I’m 4 weeks post op.
The day of surgery I was 286lbs
I think about a week from that I was 264lbs, but since then I’ve been stalled for 2 weeks(maybe some days).
Currently 259.
I have pain still as if it were the first day all over again.
I literally eat nothing as everything disgusts me. I do try to drink my Protein Shakes, but only get 1 in per day. I drink maybe 30oz of Water daily.

Is this anyone else’s experience? Does anyone have any advice ?

Stalls are very common in the first month or so & can last 1-3 weeks. Also common is the change to our taste buds & some also become sensitive to smells. It does pass but in the meantime it is a lot of trial & error to find foods you can eat. Sometimes a change of shake flavour or brand is all it takes. From week 5 most plans start soft foods. Try some of the foods you’re allowed: maybe scrambled eggs, yoghurt, mince, slow cooked Soups & casserole style foods, etc.

The bigger concerns are the pain, low Fluid intake & consuming very little. Contact your surgeon or go to your nearest medical centre. You shouldn’t still be experiencing pain and you could be dehydrated.

All the best.

I too had the same issue. About 3 weeks after my surgery I stopped losing for almost 2 weeks. I googled and found out that it is common to have a stall 3 weeks post op. After the stall I have continued to lose weight at about 1lb. every other day. Hang in there!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
