VSG scheduled 6/8/22

Recommended Posts

I didn’t really need much. I did purchase a long phone charger cord for the hospital on Amazon. Also if you don’t have a blender you may want it for puree phase (depends on if you are the type of person that has consistency issues with food-I do so I couldn’t eat blended food). I did find the disposable cups handy from Amazon that are 2 oz with lids. Made it easier to measure and store food early out. The hospital gave me a stomach binder but some people say that they purchase those online. You will definitely want a few Protein Shakes (a variety) on hand for the full liquid phase but don’t stock up too much cause our tastes change sometimes especially for sweet stuff post surgery.

blender if you don't have one. food scale is very helpful the first few months (I still use mine occasionally, but I used it all the time the first year post-op)

Chapstick of some sort and your hairbrush. My mouth was so dry the first day and night until I could drink something my lips were dry and cracked I was so glad I had my lip balm it made a world of difference that’s for the hospital I would get a food scale and a food processor I also got some 1 cup Pyrex bowls with lids comes in super handy

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
