I’m so glad to “know” some people here finally having bypass in December. It is good to have more in number so we can encourage each other. I’ve been trying to read and prepare myself with some of the great books one of the members posted about. I am new here but excited to learn more and be a support for each other!

What are some of the books you are reading?

Me too! I'm reading everything I can get my hands on!

Mostly the literature they gave me, online, and watching videos!

Sunnyway mentioned some in a post I read. The ones I’ve read so far and bought are:food junkies, a pound of cure and how weight loss surgery actually works by same author. Also weight loss surgery does not treat food addiction. I haven’t ordered any of the others but probably will. Very insightful books

December 8th!!!! So excited, but kinda nervous now that I have an actual surgery date. Kinda worried if I can actual do this. Anyone else?

Hi! I’m scheduled for December 10th. I am nervous but I’m also excited and I’m looking forward to feeling and looking better. I’m sick of the yo-yo dieting and feeling the way I do. You can do it! WE can do it!! ☺️

I am getting the Sleeve in December- the Dr said the 15th or 22nd but will confirm with me the date when I see him on November 16. My husbands off the week of Christmas because his company shuts down for two weeks every year so he wants it the 22nd. So I am hoping my Dr will let me choose that date!

I am having a RNY revision on Dec 13. I had my first RNY in 2010, lost about 130 lbs. I’ve gained about 40 back and have developed a hiatal hernia, so I’m getting the hernia repair and he will be further reducing my pouch and tightening my stoma.

Dec 8th for me. Technically I'm having the SASI /SIBS procedure. Wish there were more testimonials about it. I'm excited to get started already but also nervous because this is my first ever time going under the knife

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
