I called the surgery center Jan 28, 2021 and had surgery Sep 13, 2021. It felt like it took forever. I got my surgery date exactly six weeks before surgery.

For the first six months I was preparing for surgery, I worked on living like I would live after surgery - high Protein and low carb diet, lots of walking, etc. I lost 50 lbs.

Then I went and threw a number of food funerals as my weight got low enough that I thought I might not qualify for surgery anymore.

Then I did the two week pre-op diet.

Now I'm 2.5 weeks post-op and I've eaten 310 calories today and I am ready to burst!

You'll get there. Try not to gain too much weight - that's just more you'll have to lose afterwards.

khamm, the time between consult, testing, and surgery differs widely amongst surgery centers and insurance plans. It could be weeks or a few months. I’d ask the bariatric surgery center where you’re having it.

it's not unusual for the whole process to take a few months if insurance is paying. If you're self-pay, it usually goes quicker - although they'll still require you to do some of the testing and probably go through any of their required classes.

God damn Covid postponed my surgery for months and I couldn't even get the testing done because they don't test until you're a month from a scheduled date. Pissed off.

Just take solace in the fact that once you get it, they can't take it away.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
