Any New Yorkers?

Recommended Posts

Looking to find fellow New Yorkers here. I live up in Harlem and work in TriBeCa. Id love to connect with folks who live in the area!

One hurdle I am nervous to face is going out to eat at restaurants with friends. How do you manage the menu and food choices? Would love to hear about your experiences.

Hi I’m from NY, but no where near you lol. I’m out near Buffalo. I am almost 3 months post op from the sleeve. Best decision ever! I go out to eat on occasion. I usually just check the menu before I go and then order whatever I feel is safest. I sometimes just order and appetizer. You really can’t fit much. For example I often order a salad with chicken on it but ask for a dinner salad instead of the big salads bc you can literally only fit about 6 bites. I have so much more confidence and in general just feel so good! Hope you have an amazing experience!

I live and work in the Bronx. I’m almost 9 months out from gastric bypass and I’ve eaten out a few times while on vacation. My restriction varies day to day. I’ve eaten salads, sushi even a cheeseburger. But I try to plan my meals by looking at the menus ahead of time. If I’m treating myself to a burger then I will skip the toast for Breakfast and stick to eggs and a mandarin orange. Sometimes I eat a bun less burger. I always order unsweetened iced tea and ask for Stevia. I try to find balance.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
