WHERE ARE MY AUGUST 2021 PEEPS?

First day of the puréed stage today. Made the famous ricotta bake and it was soooo good! So glad to be eating something again!

I’m day 2 post OP today! I am struggling to get enough Water in but just tried ice chips and they are great.
Unfortunately my biggest annoyance right now is my uvula.. it looks and feels like they crushed it 😔😔 it hurts quite a bit but worst of all leaves me unable to talk LOL (my hubby isn’t complaining though 🤣)
I just hate the feeling of it dangling there, rubbing up and down the back of my tongue 🥴 it really upsets my stomach when it moves all over the place. The doctors & nurses said it should go away by itself soon and I really really hope so!

Hi all. Had VGS on Monday 8/30. Overall feeling pretty good. Thank goodness no shoulder or back pain from the procedure. Definitely have to walk a lot to get rid of gas pains. But hanging in there!

Mine was on 31st. Just got home a few minute ago. Same issue with gas. Walking is very easy, I actually have less pain when walking.

Day 10 (Phase 2 Food)

Had some puréed carrots yesterday with no problems. Tried a scrambled egg today. It went okay, but took a long time to eat. I paid close attention to the digestion feeling in my stomach. Almost like a gurgle but not quite. It didn’t feel overly fool and didn’t seem to push back up so I just kept going slowly until done with a break when ever there was that gurgle feeling.

Finally not feeling pain on the bottom right.

I’m supposed to be able to do 6oz of liquid per hour now, but I couldn’t do it. I had about 5oz and felt so full I had to stop there and have been staying at 4oz for now.

Take your time it’s not a race. We’re in this for the long haul. Your body will let you know when it can take more fluids. I’m 3 week post op and still have to sip my fluids for hours to get them in.

I am officially in phase 2 / phase 3…… had my 1 week post op follow up! My Doctor said to start the puréed phase. At that point I let him know I had unsweetened applesauce on day 7. So he advanced me to phase 3 to try soft foods if I can tolerate it! I can down apple sauce throughout the day. I tried the ricotta bake today, and some diluted juice. As surges replacement gives me headaches, but figure out if it’s the juice or ricotta bake my stomach dance around on? Has anyone newly tried the ricotta bake vs eggs and grits?

My surgery was also on 8/31/21. Pain from the bloating is much worse than I anticipated. Getting a little better every day.

Only concerns, besides distended belly, is nausea (I tried a little broth and Jello, but got nauseated after about 3 bites).

My wounds are bleeding, but not steadily. I don’t know if that’s normal or not.

so tired!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
