  2. Mine was August 23rd. I lost 100lbs and feeling so much better. Still have a little gut, but doctor said it is mostly skin. I’ve been using a virtual training app called Future. It’s been great. Haven’t been doing much cardio lately though. I want to get back to jogging. I am not trying to lose more weight I just want to stay healthy and tone up now.
  3. Anyone still checking in over here?

  8. Dropping meds so quickly was surprising. I was able to drop two blood pressure medications and metaformin.
  9. Made it past the 6 week mark!!!! Woo whoo! 100% recovery.
  10. Hi everyone, hope you are all recovering well. Week 5 here and starting chopped foods tomorrow. I think I am going to have some chicken soup.
  11. Could be the protein shakes that leave a bad taste. That was happening to me. I had to start brushing my teeth like 4 times a day then it got better and not much of an issue now that I am having more than just protein shakes all day.

  13. Not sure exactly, but my doctor says you can’t worry about wait loss in the first 6 weeks since your body is still healing. I lost 10the first week and then just stalled for two weeks after. I also head some things about too much exercise too soon isn’t good since it could slow down the metabolism and make you more hungry. Not sure on this stuff so you probably want to check back with your doctors or due some more research. I’m just saying I don’t think it is anything to worry about and give yourself time to heal.
  14. Week 3 for me and just getting back to work. I thought I was doing well with energy levels and recovery, but I had to take more breaks than usual (so it was a longer day to try and get get hours in) and couldn’t work the full day the first two days and yesterday that really got to me. I ended up getting a lot of stress and anxiety for not doing enough. I’m up at 4am to try and catch up. I’ve only had one other surgery before and I don’t take long vacations so this is really tough for me to have been away for two weeks and still not feel completely recovered.
  15. I heard about eatwise, but I haven’t tried it out yet. Is it worth it? Does it work well? For now I am using custom daily sheets to log my intake. When I was on the way preop diet I was using MyFitnessPal. It worked really well for me. I got the premium so I can get the macro nutrient reports.

  17. So I learned what it’s like to not get enough intake (liquids and protein). I felt pain, but otherwise normal the first week. I haven’t felt that lightheaded week feeling, until the last two days that is. This week I took some naps and slacked a bit on intake. I didn’t even total my numbers until the end of the day yesterday and I realized I dropped to less than 30g protein and I also very low liquids. That was why I couldn’t concentrate and felt so light headed and week. Also super low blood pressure. To make matters worse I usually have high blood pressure and I was still taking the meds to lower my blood pressure. I pushed to increase my intake this morning. Still no more than 4oz just making sure I get it every hour. I feel so much better and my blood pressure is better. I still feel light headed if I stand up, but not as bad as before. So just a reminder to everyone you really have to treat the intake like it’s a job. We can’t take in that much so we need to not miss any eating times. Initially that is every hour. When it can get more spaced out I’ll make sure to have alarms set. That wasn’t a good feeling, but glad I know better now.
  18. Day 10 (Phase 2 Food) Had some puréed carrots yesterday with no problems. Tried a scrambled egg today. It went okay, but took a long time to eat. I paid close attention to the digestion feeling in my stomach. Almost like a gurgle but not quite. It didn’t feel overly fool and didn’t seem to push back up so I just kept going slowly until done with a break when ever there was that gurgle feeling. Finally not feeling pain on the bottom right. I’m supposed to be able to do 6oz of liquid per hour now, but I couldn’t do it. I had about 5oz and felt so full I had to stop there and have been staying at 4oz for now.
  19. @boogie2dope, Thanks for calling out about the concern about gummies. My dr and nutritionist didn’t seem to raise concerns about it, but I’ve seen a few people mention concerns from there doctors and nutritionist so I think I am going to be safe and just pass on the gummies and get the chewable. Thanks.
  20. 8/23 Getting to week two tomorrow and looking forward to more food options. Who else is starting week two?
  21. I haven’t been keeping up on this thread last day or two. Surgery on 8/23. So I lost about 10 pounds I think some had lost more and some have lost less, but I know it’s very individual. I’m really happy with that amount. I’m still having pain on the bottom right of my stomach. Doctor said it was normal. He was concerned about not going to the bathroom so had to step up measure there unfortunately. I haven’t had any issues with 4oz an hour of liquids and proteins. I am thinking of moving up to soft foods since I am doing okay and it’s on the two week schedule. I haven’t started vitamins yet, might try a gummy one this week. I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos from 2 doctors and or patient l. I’ll follow up later with the names. They’ve been helping me less stressed. Although my best advantage is having an awesome wife who has been super on top of foods and meds for me. She has really been amazing. Hope everyone is doing well with their recovery. I’m glad we are in this together.
  22. So how much are we supposed to drink the first week. Is it really just 4oz at a time? I got an example schedule and it has me drinking something every hour. Just not sure how to get a 20-30 grams of protein when I can only have 4oz at a time.
