Today marks five weeks since surgery. I am down 25lbs since surgery day, so 5lbs/week thus far. I did hit a stall for a little over a week around week 3-4 but weight loss has resumed. This has been an amazing time, fingers crossed for continuing positive progress!

What are you eating 5 weeks out? I travel for work sometimes and once I am cleared to lift my suitcase at 4 weeks I might be on the road again at any time, so I'm wondering what I will be eating at that point.

Hi Lizonaplane,

This is kind of typical for me;

Breakfast: coffee, Okio yogurt

Lunch: 2oz Pre-cooked chicken or fish, 1-2 oz Avocado, 16oz Protein2O drink

Dinner: 2oz Pre-cooked Chicken or Fish, sliced Tomato.

Snacks: sugar free popsicles, soft fruits e.g berries, tangerines. I avoid tropical fruits.

I mix 16oz of Protein2O with 16oz Crystal Light. Which improves the taste and give me 32oz of Fluid.

I buy pre-marinated chicken from a carniceria (pollo para asar) and fish (Tuna, swordfish, salmon) from a local distributor. I grill or steam them and then freeze them in 2oz portions.

This is working for me as I am not really that picky of an eater, especially since surgery.

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

      Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
