Constant problems with trapped gas

Recommended Posts

I am 8 months post-op. I have had issues with gas and severe gas pain. I do not have low pain tolerance by any means, but sometimes the pain is extremely intense. It's caused me to nearly pass out at one point, and that sounds so absurd really...because, gas?!

Does anyone else experience this? I have tried the gas pills and such with very minimal relief. I do have chronic Constipation as well, so I know that does not help. My next appointment is in May, so I will bring all of this up. I'm just curious who has these issues and how long have you been dealing with them?

TIA!!

Hello Reign,

I am 11 year post op. I still have some gas issues. I find laying down on a rolled up pillow and rocking back and forth on it seems to push the gas along. Think of it like soothing a baby with collic. Tummy time works for us too.

Thanks!! I also find it difficult to burp. It's crazy how it messes with things like that. I will try the pillow thing. Gas is definitely a pain that I do not deal well with lol

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
