True One a Day Vitamin

Recommended Posts

Is there a true one a day Multivitamin for sleeve patients? The ones I have gotten are twice a day and I keep forgetting the evening one because I get off track with my Calcium during the day.

some of the bariatric-specific ones are one a day. Most regular Vitamins that you get at a place like Walgreens you have to take twice a day to meet our requirements.

My dietician recommended the ProCare ones. They're once a day.

There isn't any one per day Vitamin that contains all nutrients required. It's physically impossible. calcium citrate in pure form is quite large. Also, according to guidelines Calcium and Iron shouldn't be mixed and should be taken at least 2-hours apart. BariatricPal Offers a ONE per day Multivitamin that contains everything required, excluding Calcium. You can get an entire year supply for only $99 at https://store.bariatricpal.com/99 .

Bariatric Advantage Ultra Solo with Iron is what I take. It was recommended in my program. I buy three months at a time.

Oh, I do have to take Calcium separately, and I take extra Vitamin D and K. The Loop DS requires more Vitamin K though, and I was deficient in vitamin D before so I take extra did for that reason.
Calcium and Iron have to be taken separately so there really isn't any vitamin where you can have it all.

Thanks all. I ordered the ProCare ones today. I think this will help. I wasn’t on meds before surgery so after surgery taking Vitamins 4 times a day was really hard. Moving to am Vitamin, afternoon and evening Calcium will be more doable for me I think.

^^ yes. I should have clarified that I was referring to Multivitamins (that you'd need two a day of most "drugstore vitamins" to meet requirements). In addition, most of us need extra calcium, Iron, and (at least for RNY'ers), B12.

I'm not sure what the requirements are for sleeve, but with the bypass, I'm supposed to take the Calcium 3x a day. You might want to make sure so you don't short yourself on that one. My program recommend calcium at breakfast, lunch and dinner and the Vitamin and vitamin D at bedtime.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
