Thanks friend, you’re so right. And I’m prone to depression this time of year (Seasonal Depression due to the darkness, we’re in sunny California, so it’s common!). I have been sticking to the diet since Christmas Eve (when I indulged a little), and I feel better with regards to the guilt. I’ve forgiven myself. It’s ok to make mistakes as long as you learn from them and move on. Much love to you as well.

Yes! And so sorry about the depression -- I have it too unfortunately. Winter months, even in warmer climates, can be depressing. You're doing great and will do just fine!

Thank everyone so much! I am definitely motivated to finish out this pre op strong. No more cheats! Also my grandma had been making me liquid Soups of carrot, celery, squash and thats whats getting through I absolutely can NOT with the broths.

Can you share your grandma's recipes for the veggie Soups? Would love to know, since that helped you get past the broths.

From what she told me was she just blended and strained out the vegetables. She has made me carrot, celery, zucchini, and chicken broth. She said she just added a couple of spices and strained.

I definitely cheated on the second day but then I felt so bad about it that I just tried my best to not cheat again. By the fourth day it became more routine and I just keep focusing on the goal.

My surgery went fine, I’m almost 3 months post op. Don’t cheat anymore and you’ll likely be fine. I had a two week pre-op diet, how long is yours? Good luck!

The first day of my 2 week liquid diet my daughter made cupcakes (I haven’t told her what I’m doing, other than it’s a simple procedure). I ate 3 that day. And throughout the week was so tempted. Kept dipping my finger into the frosting for a small taste til I finally told her to eat them or throw them away. She threw them away. Lucky for her she doesn’t have the sweet tooth I have!

But had surgery yesterday without any issues.

Hey I am also struggling with pre-op. Today was my first day. I’m allowed liquids, Protein Shakes, 2 lean solid Proteins like eggs, chicken, Greek yogurt, and vegetables. No fat/carbs. I feel like I’m starving, my head hurts, and I have a short fuse with my twins.
Considering that all these docs have different pre-op diets, it feels somewhat arbitrary and I hate doing things that don’t feel meaningful. So I just re-frame it in my mind “this is a challenge I can overcome and I’ll feel good knowing I did if.” Other diets felt pointless after awhile bc I knew I couldn’t sustain it forever. I’m like - 10 days - I can do this! I’m just hoping it gets easier!!

I know I’ve been there too. Do the best you can. Though I think the closer you are to your surgery the more important it is to stick to it. Especially the 2 day liquid before surgery.
You have got this!!

I had a similar pre-op diet plan. It had categories and I could eat so many servings from each per day. I basically ate a serving of something every two hours. I did try to save at least 5 Protein servings for dinner so I could have an actual chicken breast. Anyway, I was not hungry at all. I actually didn't eat as much as I was allowed. But if I hadn't broken it down like I did, I am sure I would have struggled a lot more.

(Not sure why the formatting is giving me such a hard time...)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
