So I measured my elbow and wrist again. Lol...too much time on my giant hands. 😂

Wrist 6.25” = medium frame

Elbow 2.875” = large frame

My wrist is smaller than it was pre-WLS. My elbow did not change. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

K, curiosity got the best of me, so I measured my elbow: 2 inches. Yep, still a small frame!

P.S. im one of those people who dropped shoe size (went from roughly a 7.5 to a 6). I also dropped almost 1 inch in height!! Weird.

Lol! I guess I should check my height. That seems backwards 🤷‍♀️🤣

The shoe thing is bizarre. I have worn the same size shoes since I was a normal weight teenager. The width has decreased with the weight loss, but they are long as ever. 🤣

I didn't lose a shoe size, but it is definitely easier to get into my riding boots now. :) The one thing I lost, which surprised me a lot was BONE DENSITY! Although I have exercised a lot during the whole weight loss phase, and afterwards, with lots of walking, my bone density went from normal to slight osteopenia. From what I've read, this is not uncommon. The bones simply do not need to be as heavy and thick once the weight comes off. I had a bad fall from my horse a few weeks ago and although I did not damage a hip or shoulder, I busted 5 ribs. But I think I would have broken them, even without osteopenia. Anyway, I would encourage you all to get your bone density tests done whenever they are scheduled. I am also surprised that this was never mentioned by my medical team as a potential side effect of surgery.

Of course they are. Why should they be less long, lol.

I guess there might be certain kind of shoes that need to be bought bigger when feet have more fat on them (or more Water in them, take a look at the feet of some elderly ladies), but e. g. a sneaker? You have to tighten up the laces but that's all you have to do.

Omg, I have orthopedic shoes... I hope my feet don't change after my surgery [emoji23] or that my insurance will cover a new pair lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
