Hey all! I should have a December date as well. Hoping to have it this week!

My surgery is outpatient, though they can admit if you have issues or complications. I’m kind of glad because I just feel so much more comfortable at home. Basically surgery is in the AM and you stay until the PM and then go home. I’m ready to get this done.

What kind of surgery? I'm astounded (although delighted for you) that this can be outpatient. I'm a Lap gastric bypass and I will be in for 2-3 nights.

That’s awesome. I was saving to use them as self pay when my insurance changed and started covering the sleeve this year. Interested to hear how it goes!
This happened to me too, except I was all ready to go to Mexico. Had researched surgery centers, surgeons, hotels, even knew which flight I would be booking. Then, my insurance changed and I'm covered now. Relieved that I am part of a comprehensive program now near where I live in case of complications and also for ongoing support.

I am having a lap gastric sleeve! As long as you have no complications you can go home same day. :)

I’m new. Package went to insurance yesterday, so anticipate surgery late December or possibly January. I’m looking for supportive folks. Age 65, female, CW 272. Gastric sleeve.

Congradulations. I am myself just waiting to find out my surgery date. I was told that I'd be informed this week? We shall see. I am 55yo female, CW 287 and I'm 5'6". I look so forward to this tool to help me be able to at least be able to hopefully walk without being in intense pain. I wish you all the luck and keep us posted.

I feel your stress, myself. However, I still don't have my date of surgery. They are suppose to call me this week with the date? I'm excited for us. Hang in there and keep us posted.

How is everyone doing on pre-op diet? I am three days in and it has been really rough. Absolutely no energy.

What does your pre-op diet consist of, and for how long?

One Protein Shake for Breakfast, 1/2 c cottage cheese and 3 oz fat free turkey for lunch and dinner. No caffeine. Can have a few veggies like broccoli, cauliflower and cucumber. I can also have broth. 10 days and this is day 3.

It’s hard. No energy but then I get random spurts and do a ton of chores and then I’m back to feeling like I’m walking through sand. Also, mostly cold all the time. I’m not looking forward to being cold for the next year while my body adjusts to less fat. I keep my calories under 900/day. I’m down about 10 pounds. 20 since I started this journey. Hang in there.

Surgery tomorrow. I’ve been strangely calm about this whole thing. Doing chores today and prepping for post op. My mom is coming for a few days to help with the kids. I’m over 20 lbs down from my highest weight. I really wanted to hit 250 before surgery but I weighed in at 252.4 this morning. I’m a little disappointed but I met the goal my surgeon gave me.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
