Hi all! Is there anyone here who got a revision from sleeve to bypass and lost more weight? If you did, did you gain wait after sleeve? My HW 280, Lowest sleeve weight was (2013)171, (2017)180 after 5 years, (2019) 190 on my wedding day and now w GERD and quarantine I’m 230 :(

I get my surgery date this week for bypass. Are there any success stories of going back down to your lowest sleeve weight? I’m excited to no longer have to take omperozole but do want to lose and get back down to 170. Please let me know, looking for someone who achieved that lol

I would really love some success stories as well. Had sleeve 8 years ago. Went from 260 down to 166. After about a year started gaining it right back and with this crazy year I'm back to 250. I'm going for a sleeve to bypass revision but the doctor said the results typically aren't as good. I'm having trouble finding much on the internet specific to that.

Thanks

Jean

Jean! I have my surgery scheduled 11/2. I met with my surgeon last week and he said as long as I stick to my no carb, Protein and physical activity I will lose the weight and go back down to my lowest. Today is my first day no coffee and I’m dying but ready to get back into track. I also follow some on IG that has revision for weight loss and she said it takes longer but possible if we follow the diet and don’t go back to our old habits. I totally know how much this sucks to have come so far only to gain lol but we got this!!!

I had my surgery on 10/14. Pre-op weight was 239. The pumped me full of fluids and on 10/15, I weighed 249.

Went for post op and weighed in at 228. They just put me on purées. I was struggling with having BM and I was in excruciating pain. I was finally Abe to resolve issue and my recovery is so much better. I weighed in today @226. So... I’d say that I am losing thus far. I want to get back to my lowest weight of 165. I’m sure this loss will slow down soon, but I am currently pleased with the steady loss right now!

Woohoo thank you! Yes starting to lose now I’m sure you will get there! I’m 225 and hoping to get to my lowest 171! Good luck and my thoughts are with you! You got this!

My understanding from the doc is that revising to bypass is not ideal for much weight loss. If you have reflux that is something else to consider however.

Circlesis how much did you gain over the 6? I’m at 6 years as well. And have you lost any weight since?

I should add that I recently revised from sleeve to DS due to some regain after 6 years

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
