What seasonings can you not live without post surgery? Give me a few ideas of seasonings I need to stock up on before I have surgery here in a few weeks. Those things that you use on everything that you cook that makes food taste amazing?

Curry powder, chili powder, Cajun seasoning, garlic and onion powder for almost everything, ginger, pumpkin spice for homemade shakes, once you get to solids again try dukkah seasoning.

I'm also using a southwest chili Protein Powder from the BariatricPal Store for tossing veggies in before baking or sautéing. So good!

Creole seasoning (Tony Chachere's), Everything Bagel (Sam's Choice), Garlic salt with parsley (Lawry's) and dill weed.

I just made an awesome blackened flounder using 8 seasonings. Onion and Garlic Powder, Cayenne, Oregano, Thyme (good for soups), Paprika, Black Pepper, Salt....

I recently bought a bunch of seasonings from Flavor God. Nacho cheese is good on pureed refried Beans and mashed cauliflower. Buttered cinnamon roll is good on applesauce (helps to cover up the taste of the GENEPRO Protein powder I add to is). pizza is good on the famous ricotta bake. I also bought everything seasoning, taco Tuesday, and lemon garlic but haven't tried them yet.

I like sugar-free caramel Syrup in applesauce and tea. And I like to mix chocolate protein powder and PB2 powdered Peanut Butter into Oikos Triple Zero yogurt.

WOW we all are in the same group - Cajun and Mojo

I am a trained chef but for some reason since the surgery go to the two above the most. One other new one in my army of rubs, sauces and spices is Smoked Salts! Never really used it pre Op but now love it

Great question! I kept meaning to ask this! 😀 Good luck with your surgery. I'm waiting for the call to schedule my surgery any day now!

You might want to wait until post op. Your taste buds change a bit. I'm over a month out and sweet smells and sweet foods still make me nauseated.

I put salt, pepper, garlic powder, cayenne & smoked paprika on EVERYTHING.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
