Attended birthday party during 2 week prep diet

Recommended Posts

I attended a party today and I had very strong impulses to eat some of the food being served. I did not cheat but I cried when the desert was served from such an intense feeling of frustration. I had brought a cooler with my shakes and sugar free Jello so I had something to fall back on. Once I said goodbye and got in the car I felt much better. I could have opted not to attend but I feel like I needed this challenge to prepare me for the road ahead. I felt a little embarrassed to cry over chocolate but I’ve been giving into every single impulse so long that the act of restraint caused me to cry. I have five more days to go until I have surgery. The next five should be a piece of cake considering I was able to get through the day. Thanks for reading.

Good job resisting temptation! I did my best to avoid looking at food, even pictures of food, during my pre-op diet. Never realized how many e-mails Taco Bell sends until then (I didn't even eat at Taco Bell regularly, haven't been there in over a year, but once you give them your e-mail address, they don't stop).

I swear it seemed like a plot last week with all these food commercials. I changed to streaming only to avoid look at all the food on regular television.

I'd be more concerned about covid at a party when I'm pre-op.

I am concerned about that but my family is very diligent about wearing masks and avoiding crowds. Plus I tend to sit by myself at parties anyway. I’m predisposed to social distancing by my personality. Score one for me for being a loner.

seriously, the easiest way to deal with things like this is to avoid these situations when you can (and I know sometimes that's difficult, if not impossible). At over five years out, there are still some situations that I avoid when I can because I'm afraid I won't be able to control myself.

Thanks and I did. I’m becoming a grandmother soon and I’m planning on being a very active grandma! I did this for me but also for my grandchild. I want to build beautiful memories!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
