Hello all!

Fairly new to the posting community. But during quarantine I found this app and I’ve been reading all the love and support that you all give one another!!

I’m joining the bandwagon!

I got my surgery date as of about a month ago! I’m going under the knife on August 10th. So I’m less than two weeks away!

Does anyone have any tips for the pre-op liquid diet? I started two days ago and I’ve most been drinking Tomato Soup, broth, Protein Shakes, juice and Water. It’s started to get old, an I’ll be in this stage for about another month!

TL;DR: I’m in my 2 week liquid diet and I’m looking for some tips.

Add spices to make it more flavorful. Try freezing Protein Shakes to add to coffee instead of ice. There are some Protein Powder Soups out there I suggest that will lend to variety. Also, try freezing crystal light until slushee for a treat.

it's actually a lot easier AFTER surgery, because if you're like most of us, you won't be hungry. That two weeks pre-surgery is tough, though - you just have to white knuckle it. It seems to get easier by the third or fourth day, though.

I bought a bunch of single-serving samples of Protein powders from different brands. It helped to have some variety when Protein Shakes were all I could have.

sugar free Jello is a nice treat. I ate it every night during my pre-op.

For my broth, I add a different spice to it, it does help a little. As for shakes, there are a couple that I like so I drink a different one 3 times a day. I started my liquid diet on Tuesday and this has probably been one of the hardest things I have done. Especially when my husband and daughter are eating. I'll be following along to see more tips to get through this and good luck on this new adventure.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
