Now that I finally made up my mind

Recommended Posts

Ever since I decided to go for Bariatric surgery I am anxious to get it over with. I have some issues with my skin that I hope will go away after the surgery. It’s not easy to talk about but I’m living with these issues for a long time. Is anyone else troubled with skin breakdown and bumps? Did they go away after surgery? Thanks.

I have HS. Its an auto immune skin disease that I hope will go away with the weight loss. I get very painful boils/bumps in-between my thighs and buttchecks and sometimes my vaginal area. I pray that this issues goes away.

I also have HS, and I’m hoping that the weight loss will offer some relief. I’m looking for people that have had positive skin changes after this surgery, too! I have some eczema and I can’t remember the name of the other term I have—it’s basically clogged hair follicles on the arms/legs that just look like red bumps everywhere. I forget the term.

Its sucks but I feel glad I am not alone on this. I hope this is cured for us both, its a living nightmare honestly.

Are you talking about the wet rashes and yeast infections in the folds and your neck? Yes, they smelled and burned, and they go away. The lumps are common for obese people. I used to get them on my tighs and my vagina. Large, painful ones. They also go away. Psoriasis will go away also.
My issue is with large bumps under the arm, under breast and in private area. I've had quite a few procedures over the years to drain them. The only other thing I have is at the top of my butt. I get redness and then the skin opens up like a fissure. It burns like hell. I think it's the butt cheeks rubbing together or something causing it. I hate it!

I think it's keratoses pilar
They usually prescribe lac-hydrin for it.

I never knew the name if the condition but I used to experience this when I was heavier. It's completely gone now like it never existed ❤

Hidradenitis Suppurativa! It’s awful, and I’m considered a mild case!

Also yes, perfektlynrml, keratosis pilaris is it! I knew once I saw it I would remember!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
