Had my bypass on 6/09. Recovery for me was better than expected pain wise. Only thing that happened was I had a really bad allergic reaction to the skin glue they used to close the incisions. I am on my 2nd round of steroids. Hopefully this will work it’s magic, my belly looks like a welted lobster, red and itchy. I am on purées now and in about a week can move on to soft/mushy foods. I go back to work on Monday, so can’t wait, I have been going stir crazy at home. Hope everyone has a great day.

I'm 5 days post surgery and today I managed to get 3 of my tablets down - I did discover that I shouldn't have them just before a meal, I only managed 70mL of Protein Shake after 3 tablets(vit D, probiotic and multivitamin). I am drinking about 1.5L of Water in addition to my meals and I know I need to focus on getting more meal volume in. Who else gets bored of drinking their soup/protein shake before they are finished or full - I just enjoy drinking water more haha.

I had surgery on Monday as well. I’m doing okay on fluids. I had horrible gas and stomach spasms. I’m glad you’re doing well. Keep up the good work :)

I had surgery on the 24th. I have had no problems with Fluid intake. Had urinary retention and terrible gas pains for the first 24 hours.

I'm 4 days post op and literally have no interest in anything except water and pain meds lol.

My bypass is tommorow!! Whoohoo!! Finally!! After Covid it was pushed back! I’m ready to get this done. I hear people saying they had to do a liquid pre op diet. I didn’t. I was on a 1000 calorie diet!

Good luck with your surgery today. Mine is today too after looong 6 months. Thats great 1000 cal instead of liquid diet you can't beat that . Sending positive vibes.

ou shouldn't have any discomfort, as long as you're drinking slow.

I joined the lover's bench in the 25th. Havent had much fluids and teying to consume Protein Shakes. They are just too darn sweet now. I've noticed that I weigh the same amount of weight as I did when I did on the of my surgery even with me not consuming much fluids. Whelp! I am determined to let this tool work for me.

I can’t seem to balance my sips with good timing. And after a few sips I feel like I need to walk and burp. I could literally burp after every sip. I hope this won’t last forever.

Hi all! First post for me. I had the bypass on June 3rd, and I am almost down 50 pounds. On July 7th I had my gallbladder removed, so I'm in "recovery" again. My question is, is anyone struggling to eat? Like the thought of eating makes me nauseated and so does drinking warm Water as well. My family is worried about me, and to be honest I am worried as well.

I also feel like my throat is tight as well. I'm thinking that it is my medicine that I have to split to take. Any advise would be great.

I honestly feel amazing. I am down 11kg (25lbs) since surgery on June 9th.

I had a bit of a stall on week 4, but I am killing it this week.

I work out every day via rhythm games like StepMania and Beat Saber for AT LEAST an hour, but I try to go for 2+ hours. I get about 80-85g of Protein in a day, while also drinking 1.5L of Water, and keeping my carbs below 30g (primarily from veggies/fruits).

I hope everyone else is doing well too. I haven't been super active here, but I am almost always sitting on Instagram!! LOL If anyone wants to follow me, you can! @Stephiverse -- I am sharing my progress, journey, and a whole lot of complaints there. There is a great community available. I will try to be on the forums a bit more tho!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
