After 40 days, I got to have coffee this morning! And, it tastes awful! lol. I used to have half and half and some sugar; I tried it this morning with some Premier Caramel, and nope, can't drink it. I may have made it too strong, or maybe coffee is something in my past 😢 Has anyone found a good "creamer" for coffee?

Try Premier Protein Cafe Latte! 30 g protien and same amount of caffeine as 1 cup of coffee, I am obsessed. It was my fav of all the Protein Shakes pre-surgery. I order a 12 pack on Amazon but also available at Walmart.
I'm 4 weeks post op myself and just had my first of these today.Screenshot_20200321-082512_Amazon%20Shopping.jpeg

@niffer, thank you for the tip! I'll add it to my next Amazon order, although I am feeling hesitant to order any "non-essentials" from Amazon right now.

@ResaRoo, it is hard to not have a crunchy snack, right? I ordered some high Protein cheese Snacks (called Cheesies); They don't taste that great to me on their own, but a half serving has 5 g or protein, and my lunch today was 2 g of tuna salad and 1/2 serving of those and it was a nice crunchy way to eat my tuna! Plus, 20g of protein and only 7 carbs for less than 200 k. BTW, I use the Hellman's mayo made with olive oil, it's half the calories and although high in fat it is the "good" fat. I don't like the regular light Mayonnaise, it is too sweet for me.

I don’t like sweet things and found it terribly hard to deal with ready made shakes. I like Premier Protein’s vanilla but do add ice and mix it with an immersion blender. I do add an extra cup of almond milk so it cuts the sweet a bit. I found Unjury and Isopure unflavored whey Protein mixed with some Water then added to broth for a ‘soup’ a life saver. My local butcher saves his chicken bones for me and I make Bone Broth from them in a crock pot. Love the Cheesies recommendation. Will go look. Thanks.

Hi guys

My surgery was 2/28/2020... has anyone experienced a sharp pain on their left side... not at the incision site, but near the belly button? It's a really sharp pain. I've spoken to my surgeon, he seems to think it's a pulled muscle. I don't feel like it's a pulled muscle. It hurts if I bend or move positions. I have to be very careful. Has anyone had this experience?

When i lie down on my left side I get a sharp pain to the left of my belly button. It’s not close to any of my incisions and usually only hurts in that position. It reminds me of when I played sports as a kid and I would get a “stitch” if I ran too much. I’ve read that running stitches happen due to muscle spasms or a pinched nerve, which seems plausible for our situation too. Mine doesn’t sound as bad as yours though; it’s really more of a nuisance because I like sleeping on my left side and I can’t. My surgery was on 2/14, so hopefully your pain will get better

Awww man. I hope yours start to feel better as well!. I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with this experience. I was getting ready to head to the hospital. Like I've explained to the drs. I don't know what's normal because I've never had this surgery. Plus it's so unfortunate that this Virus has hit us hard... I cant go to any support groups

It's been a tough couple days. My wife was pregnant and we lost the baby a few days ago. Normally I would eat to cope but since I cant do that I'm having a tough time.

She had to have emergency surgery because of it and I've had to pick up the slack with our son. Guess I overdid it and am now having sharp pains under my right side incision.

Hi Lisa:

So nice to hear from you! I am exactly four weeks out also and I have lost exactly the same amount as you!! It must be working :)

Congratulations.... we got our surgery just in time. Another week at it would have been canceled! I'm SO GRATEFUL!!!

Best to you. Keep in touch.

Grace

@Xx1jpt5xx so very sorry about your loss. Just want to say that with things already going pretty badly that must feel like a real kick in the gut. Be careful to monitor your pain. Might want to see the doctor if it persists. Hang in there.

Had bypass the 6th of Feb. have done pretty good and have trouble getting enough Protein. Have been getting the Vitamins via Patches and so much easier than crushing. Also have trouble drinking the Water I need so have started sucking on ice cubes.

Good luck to you! You are quite a ways past surgery to still have to crush your Vitamins. are you eating solid food yet? I found it easier to get my Protein in once I could eat some actual food.

Had some whole wheat toast today per my surgeons plan & I was able to tolerate it. I was scared to try it at first cause I heard lots of people dont do well with bread this early.
