I have a headache!!

Recommended Posts

It is almost all gone, still lingering a little, but nothing that isn't tolerable

The pre-op diet itself is no problem at all, the Optifast isn't that bad tasting and my 2 cups of low starch and green vege's in the evening is something i have really come to look forward to.

Most of it is a mindset i think - i mean - i am not hungry at all, but i keep thinking about all the yummy things i would like to eat

i want to stick to this religiously for the 2 weeks - though my birthday is next week - i am tossing up whether i should go out for dinner or not. At this stage i am leaning towards no, but as the day aproaches, i might feel different

tracy :biggrin1:

There will be plenty of time after you're banded to have birthday dinner. It will just be much less of a birthday dinner, but no less enjoyable, or tasty!

Many bandsters find that if they're VERY careful after banding, (and AFTER their post op diets are complete) that they can pretty much enjoy anything they enjoyed before, just take it slow, and chew chew chew!

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

when are getting banded? I am getting banded on dec. 10th. we seem to be on the same schedule. It's great to chat with someone in the same boat as me.

i am so excited too. I am on my 4th day of the liver shrinking diet. i haven't felt hungry either. today I was a little. Just like you, I really can't wait to get home and fix me a plate of real food. I hate to cook, but now I will learn to enjoy it.

food has been such a part of my life for so long!

I used to want to own a restaurant. tea room to be exact.

Then when I got the band on, I mourned food. Probably for a month then it got easier to not care as much.

Now, when I have that funky pressure in my chest, I stop and don't eat another bite.

As long as you eat all of your supplements and drink the Water you will be fine.

Whatever you do, no matter how much you want to try to wash something down that feels stuck, don't do it! :)

You will be fine.

Follow the rules to the T!

I still eat foods that are soft. I used to love vegetables that are crisp tender and now have to have them creamated. sniff

I can not eat beef unless it is in a meatloaf type and ground 2-3 times until nice and fine.

I was a hamburgerholic, yeah really! bread is something I faintly remember. I believe that you can't do some things because you have this tiny pouch which is slow in digestion.

Shots of alcohol is bad, any straight alcohol. I think that would hurt the tummy. popcorn, I have been told that it is dangerous. I know a woman who eats it but hmmmm, hope she doesn't get hurt.

No pain killers but Tylenol. My brother took aleve every day, even though I told him not to. Bleeding ulcer, had to have band removed. regained all the 150 pounds in about 2 months, developed graves disease.

I told him not to eat that he would get some funky illnesses.

Men can be so dumb.

Good luck and write any time you like!

I am finishing day 2 of pre-op Optifast diet. I too, had a headache all day yesterday and most of this morning. I didn't really think about it being from the sugar withdrawal. Well I am better now. I don't care for the optifast Soup, but the drinks are all right and the snack bar is decent too. I can't believe I am looking forward to the full liquid diet after surgery. When I can have runny yogurt, because I love my sugar-free yogurt!! My surgery is on December 13th. I have to say that I am sooo lucky to have the support of not just my family, but my friends, co workers and bible study group. They (my study group) on purpose didin't have Snacks last night so I wouldn't be tempted. But they didn't tell me, so I brought my snack bar!! LOL! My co worker is going to do the slim fast for a few weeks w/me at lunch too.

You all sound like you are doing great! Hang in there, when I get a little hungry, I get a drink of Water and remember, I can do this for one day---Tomorrow I will start another one day.

I am drinking the Slim Fast with High Protein shakes; 1 for Breakfast and 1 for lunch with a small piece of fruit. at dinner they suggest 4 oz of chicken, turkey, ham, or roast beef that is fat free like Hillshire Farm from the deli section. Also, I can have 1 cup of non starchy veggies and 1 healthy pc of bread. I really look forward to going home and fixing my dinner. It is always so good! I hated to cook, but I think I will learn to enjoy now.:hungry:

Wow, Tracy your doing brilliantly!! Well done. I have been really good up until yesterday! I couldn't stop myself, I was so hungry! I had 3 slices of bread stuffed with chicken nuggets!! So annoyed with myself.... But I'm going to be 100% from now on. I really don't like many of the drinks I am on Dr MacLeod's, I don't know if this is the same as Optifast? Today is day 5, so 1 slip up is pretty good going. Considering I still have to cook for the family.

Try and have a good birthday, what about if you go out for a meal but have a nice salad instead of one of the Optifast shakes?

Good luck with the next 11 days.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
