Robotic sleeve surgery

Recommended Posts

Anyone had the sleeve surgery done robotically? My surgeon called today and ask if I would be ok with him doing it robotically. He said it is more precise and gives him a much better view and recovery most likely will be easier! I said ok, but just wondering if anyone else has had it that way?

I have had two robotically assisted surgeries. My sleeve was done robotically on January 16 and I had a piece of my colon removed in December 2018 robotically. There are lots of advantages. First is there is less incision pain. In laparoscopic surgeries the cannula move in the incisions. With robotically assisted surgeries the only movement is inside your abdomen. Second is the surgeon has much better magnified 3D view . Third is the can use a dye in your bloodstream which will fluoresce so the surgeon can see blood vessels better. Fourth is the surgeon has much more precise control over the instruments being use down to the millimeter. I am sure there are more, but those are the ones I remember. Robots may one day rise up and take over, but until that day, I reccomend robotically assisted surgery.

Yes, I had a robotic assisted sleeve on 1/8 and had zero complications. The scarring seems to be super minimal as well, I'm thinking maybe due to the robotic assistance? I'm amazed to be honest

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
